Viewing the Cathedral of Florence and the famous Duomo is incredible from the outside and truly breath taking from inside. You can buy tickets to climb to the top of Brunelleschi's Dome (we did it, really not that bad of a climb with multiple landings for rest if needed and incredible views of the painted dome and the outside is truly breathtaking) as well as see inside the cathedral, Giotto's Bell Tower, Baptistery of San Giovanni and Archaeological site of Santa Reparata. Tickets are only around 20 euro!
The House debuts the Gucci Garden inside the historic Palazzo della Mercanzia, which housed the Gucci Museo. Conceived by creative director Alessandro Michele, the newly designed space features a store with one-of-a-kind items that can only be found here in Florence, the Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura— a restaurant by three-Michelin-star chef—and the Gucci Garden Galleria exhibition rooms.
Piazza dell’Anfiteatro is a wonderful square in Lucca, built on the remains of an ancient Roman amphitheater, which determined its closed elliptical shape. SHORT HISTORY A large amphitheater was built here in the 1st or the 2nd century BC, under Emperor Claudius, and was finished in the Flavian period. The structure, with fifty-four arches and 18 rows of seats, could accommodate around 10,000 spectators. In the 19th century, thanks to the architect Lorenzo Nottolini, was decided an urban renewal of the structure. The space of the arena was freed from the small buildings that crowded it and the Via dell’ Anfiteatro was built around it. To date, the floor of the square is raised about 3 meters from the Roman amphitheatre. Access to the square is possible via 4 vaulted portals, but only one of these, the lowest, follows one of the original gates.
