We have not slept over in Lucca yet, we mainly are based out of Florence but our amazing wedding planner, Helga, provided the following options (copy and paste in browser): In the countryside: https://www.fattoriamansibernardini.it/ (it’s around 3.5 - 4 km from Villa Grabau) In Lucca: https://www.palazzodipinto.com/ http://www.hotelhambros.com/camere/ Hope one of these beautiful locations work and regardless of where you stay we will be exploring Tuscany together and all transportation will be leaving from Villa Grabau based on the provided schedule so we will have plenty of time together!
Yes, Black tie optional. Men, can wear a tuxedo, but not required. If tuxedo-less is your forte then wear a formal dark suit and tie instead. Keep it sharp and have fun with the color scheme, It’s a Tuscan wedding in the fall so look your best. If still confused, ask “what would TomFord wear?” Women can go the long evening gown route, but a dressy suit or shorter cocktail dress is fine. Essentially, ladies should choose a dress that’ll hold up alongside a room full of men in formal tuxedos, and women who chose to wear gowns. The ceremony will be outside and you'll be walking across lawn/pebble paved walk ways so avoid traditional heels that will likely get stuck in the grass! No one should look like a baby giraffe walking around, so plan accordingly. IMPORTANT: Gino DEMANDS all ladies (and yes you queens too, if you so please) to wear a most amazing fascinator. He dreams to look out after saying, I DO, and seeing everyone looking absolutely stunning and fabulous. (NOT optional)
Well we are surely glad you asked! Who knows what we want more than US!? So that being said we have created a Pinterest board with looks that will match the season, these are just some ideas to give you all some inspiration with colors and feel of the wedding. Take a look and we cannot wait to see all the colors of the suits, dresses and of course the amazing fascinators! https://pin.it/kh4aitrspxgwdt
Nick's answer is yes! and with a smile at 9am no less.... However, Tuscany is a wonderful place with so many amazing places to visit, wines to drink, and pastas to eat so we ask that you RSVP to the events you will attend as this determines the size of bus(es) booked and if you want a day of exploring by yourself you are certainly able to do so as you wish and enjoy all Italy has to offer.
The cost for the buses throughout the week to the various excursion is built into the total accommodation cost for the guests staying at Villa Grabau. An additional fee will be required for guests staying offsite. Once the guest list and accommodations have been finalized, guests will be notified of the cost for the bus(es) with details how to pay for bus during booking travel for the wedding.
Your presence at our wedding is a gift in itself! However, we also set up a honeymoon fund in place of receiving physical gifts, as is custom. Italian weddings are rich in symbolism and tradition as such ours will be lavish with great care taken to ensure that all in attendance enjoy themselves and the day is memorable. A true traditional Italian wedding will have the bride (That's you GINO!) carrying a satin bag, called la borsa, during the reception. Guests are expected to place an envelope with money into the bag to help defer the cost of the lavish wedding or pay for the honeymoon. Men who wish a dance with the bride/Gino are also expected to add money to her satin bag for the honor. Additionally, though not as often practiced, some grooms at Italian wedding receptions cut their tie into pieces and sell the pieces to guests to raise money for the honeymoon. In lieu of having to carry extra Euro we also have a honeymoon fund here so you can also donate to the fund electronically.
