Our love story began in December 2018, at a cozy backyard Christmas party hosted by our mutual friend, Guy. The moment Nick complimented the buttons on Hayley's jacket, he had no idea that it would ignite a conversation that lasted for two hours straight. It turned out that Hayley could talk!

Over the next few months, we went on numerous dates and got to know each other better. Our first date took place at 'Plan Check Kitchen + Bar' on Sawtelle Blvd. Some notable moments included Hayley's jalapeño cocktail having an overwhelming layer of jalapeños, Nick revealing his contrarian opinion about not liking the Oscar front-runner "The Shape of Water", and the night ending with a goodnight kiss by a telephone pole. Throughout the years, we shared countless experiences and adventures, such as cozy nights ordering Doordash and watching TV on the couch (most common), relaxing by a pool with a good book and beverages, camping in our two-person tent, indulging in steak and French fries at various steakhouses, escaping to cabins in Big Bear, Yosemite National Park, and Lake Tahoe, attending beer festivals, rocking out at Coachella and numerous other live concerts, enjoying snowy winters in Cincinnati with the Ghizas family, and basking in the hot summer days in Palm Desert with the Iwig family.

In August 2022, we took a trip to Hawaii, and unbeknownst to Hayley, an engagement ring was hiding in Nick's carry-on (or maybe she had an inkling). Thankfully, Nick flexed his TSA Precheck status at security and was forced to go in a separate line which kept his secret safe. While on our trip, we had a blast with ATVs, spam musubi, and snorkeling. One morning, Nick dragged Hayley out of bed at 4am for a drive to the other side of the island to see the sunrise. We made it just in time to Lanikai Beach to witness the breathtaking view. As the sun peeked over the horizon, Nick got down on one knee and popped the big question. With a knowing grin, Hayley gave an overwhelming nod of agreement and said "Yes!"
