How We Met

2016

We met the good old fashion way - in college. I saw Tony from afar at an event that his club hosted for Lunar New Years. I thought he was really cute, but I was super shy and couldn't talk to him so I found an E-Board member and asked about the club and when they usually met. Then a week goes by and I muster up the courage to join the club so that I can get a chance to talk to Tony. At the end of the club meeting everyone heads over to a Korean pastor’s house to get free Korean food (shoutout to Pastor) and it’s there that I make my move and I tell Tony that I like his Kinjaz shirt. I end up sitting next to him while we eat and then am so nervous that I don’t think I said anything else to him. A week later this same cycle repeats and when leaving Pastor’s house I tell the friends that I made that I’ll walk back to my dorm instead of taking the bus. Tony also decides to walk back to his dorm and we walk back together, where we end up exchanging numbers. We start texting later that night and find out we have quite a few things in common. After that we get a few on campus dinners and breakfasts, and by the end of the month he takes me out on our first date. After that the rest is history and now you will all be here with us to enter this next stage of life together!

The Proposal

9.12.21

Tony and I don't usually do much for our birthdays', however that year I told Tony that I wanted to do something, and he told me that he would plan it. We had just come back from a trip to Cancun where I had a new found love for Mexican food, so Tony tells me that he planned a birthday dinner for me with all of our friends at a Mexican restaurant in the Seaport. We get dressed up and head out, and I'm excited to see all of our friends who came out to celebrate with me. As dinner is dying down I see the waitress bringing out a cake from the other end of the table, and I go to turn and tell my friend "wow that cake is huge and I don't think we're going to be able to eat all of that". I'm still looking away as the waitress sets the cake down, and when I turn I see that the cake says 'Will you marry me?" on it instead of "Happy Birthday". Immediately I'm crying and then I turn and see Tony on one knee with the ring in his hand, and I think I asked him at least twice if this was real and if he was being serious before I finally said yes!
