Tuxedos are welcomed, but not necessary and formal dresses (short or long, but no need for a ballgown) would be appreciated! One of the things we are most excited about is the coming together of English and American wedding traditions. Tails in lieu of tuxedos, hats or no hats - please wear whatever makes you feel best when celebrating! The Colony Club also has a dress code to be mindful of: men must be in a jacket and tie and no jeans or other five pocket pants (for men or women) are allowed. One last thing! Please also be mindful of the weather - the reception will be plenty warm, but for those not in jackets, you may want to bring a wrap or sweater for the ceremony.
We would love to have you take photos of the day but we ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremony. The Colony Club also has a (more lenient) no cell phone policy and a (very strict) no geotagging social media policy. To put it simply, please wait until we say 'I do' to take any photos, and if you take a picture at the Colony Club, please do so discreetly. If you'd like to later share it on social media, please do not use a geotag or mention the club by name. We appreciate it is a bit pedantic but we are so grateful to host our wedding at the club and want to be respectful of its general etiquette rules and tradition! We have hired a fantastic photographer to capture moments throughout the day and will be thrilled to share these with you after the weekend.
The church is approximately a six minute walk from the reception. Weather permitting, it should be an easy walk. Cabs will be readily available if you'd prefer not to walk. Everyone will need to check in at the reception, so please expect a tiny wait! It will be worth it, we promise.
It finally happened!! With the US border opening to UK and other travelers, we feel optimistic (and so, so grateful) that our wedding will be able to proceed as planned. While of course there remains some uncertainty, we are pushing forward with our date and hope you will join us in crossing our fingers that we are able to proceed in December! We will be sure to update you if there are any changes. Please note that NYC government guidelines require that all attendees at our wedding be fully vaccinated (and able to demonstrate vaccination status). There is not an option to test out. For those vaccinated in the UK, the NHS app is accepted as proof of vaccination.
