By June 1, 2025. Please click on the RSVP tab to let us know which events you will be attending so we can plan for catering and transportation. Yes, we realize that's way more in advance than your average wedding but this isn't going to be your average wedding! But the real reason is that it is the start of the busy season in South Africa so the venues require much more advance notice to coordinate logistics. And, of course, we know that life happens and that plans can change.
We recommend the following: - Starting your trip in Cape Town (and arriving the Monday before so you can let that jet lag wear off) – there will be some optional pre-wedding activities leading up to our wedding weekend in and around Cape Town. - Attending our wedding weekend in Stellenbosch (YAY!); and - Off to Safari (if that’s in your plan - we’d recommend 4-5 days for the Safari with travel time built in). If you're planning to come for a shorter stay, we recommend 8 days to account for travel and jetlag. This will give you time to explore Cape Town and the surrounding area. If you'd like to book a longer trip, we recommend two weeks. This will allow you to experience the diverse landscapes, wildlife, and culture, and explore popular attractions such as Cape Town, Johannesburg, the Garden Route, safaris in Kruger National Park, and the winelands around Stellenbosch.
October is a transition month, so the weather can vary, with occasional rain and windy days. Overall, it's still a great time to visit South Africa! Daytime temperatures average around 75°F, while evenings cool down to 55-60°F. We suggest bringing something warm for the nights so that you can layer up.
Please check your invite :)
A trip to South Africa is a trip of a lifetime! We wouldn't dream of making you leave your littles behind, but please know that the wedding celebration itself will be adults only. We will have qualified babysitters available through the hotel for that evening.
Yes, we will have some shuttles going between our recommended accomodations where we expect to have a majority of our guests staying. More details to come here so be sure to check back ahead of the wedding.
If you are driving to the venue, there is plenty of free parking and a car parking assistant to help. If you are staying at the venue for the wedding weekend, your rental car will be safely looked after for the duration of the wedding weekend at no extra charge.
Please see our schedule of events for recommended attire.
We have planned most of the events of the wedding day to be outdoors (weather dependant of course, again let's keep those fingers crossed!). The afterparty will be indoors. Please bring a coat or jacket as the evenings can get chilly in the wine region.
Yes! We would love for you to take pictures and videos throughout the day. There will be a QR code for you to share these with us!
This is a very valid question, with multiple different answers. Obviously anywhere you travel, you need to be aware of your surroundings. We've included some helpful tips to keep in mind when traveling in SA below. Of course, feel free to share your itinerary plans with us and we can provide some helpful suggestions on how to enjoy the beauty of South Africa with peace of mind. - Don’t drive with your windows open or leave valuables on the seats of your car; - Public transport is not utilized in SA; - Credit cards are accepted everywhere, rather use your card than shuffle around with cash; - Plan township and city tours with someone who knows the place; and - Enjoy everything this beautiful country has to offer. You will not be disappointed!
In South Africa, they use the Rand. Make sure to review the latest conversion rates so you can plan and budget accordingly. It’s also recommended that you don’t walk around with a lot of cash as credit cards are accepted pretty much everywhere.

Uber can be a convenient and safe option for transportation in Cape Town, but there are some considerations to keep in mind: - Getting Around: Many locals and visitors use Uber without issues. It’s best to stick to tourist areas and arrange pickups and drop-offs in well-lit, populated areas. - General Precautions: As with any city, keeping your valuables out of sight, avoiding sharing personal details with drivers, and checking Uber's safety features like "RideCheck" can enhance your safety.
If you want to come and go as you please and explore more of the area, we recommend renting a car. There are a few things to know before you rent a car: - Driving on the Left: In South Africa, cars drive on the left side of the road, and the steering wheel is on the right side of the car. If you're not used to this, take some time to get comfortable, especially at roundabouts and intersections. - Security: Avoid leaving valuables visible in the car and park in secure, well-lit areas or gated parking lots whenever possible. - Insurance: Make sure to get comprehensive insurance, including coverage for theft, damage, and liability. Also, check the rental agreement for any exclusions, such as coverage for tire or windshield damage. - Local Driving Laws: South Africa has strict laws regarding speed limits, seat belts, and drunk driving. Adhere to these rules to avoid fines and ensure your safety. - Wildlife: If you plan to drive in more rural or park areas, be aware of wildlife that may cross the road, especially at dawn or dusk.
