Question

Canada, eh?

Answer

Renew your passports! All travelers from the U.S. need a valid passport, passport card, or NEXUS card to enter Canada .

Question

When should I arrive in Pemberton?

Answer

We know that this wedding is a long way for many of our family and friends and we are so grateful that you are considering traveling to celebrate with us. We want to make the trip worth your while so we are planning a day of activities on Friday in addition to the wedding on Saturday! We think you will get the most out of the trip if you can arrive by Thursday evening or Friday morning. We understand that everyone's schedules are different and we will cherish every hour we can spend with our guests. If you would like to make a vacation out of it, we would be delighted to provide recommendations in Pemberton, other parts of BC, or Seattle!

Question

How do I get to the Holt house? How do I get to the Red Barn?

Answer

The Holts are located at 7574 Pemberton Meadows Road. You will pass a "Slow" sign on the right about 200 feet before their driveway. There is plenty of parking in the driveway or in their front field. On Saturday, we are providing shuttles to and from the Red Barn. Shuttles will depart from the Pemberton Valley Lodge at 4:00 and 4:30. Beginning at 10 PM, they will run every half hour from the Red Barn back to the Pemberton Valley Lodge. There is also ample parking at the Red Barn if you would prefer to drive yourself. If you are not staying at the Lodge, you can park there for the duration of the wedding to take advantage of the shuttle!

Question

What activities do you have planned for Friday and Saturday?

Answer

Check your email for a message from your Recreation Director! John Holt (Gemma's dad) is coordinating all sorts of activities. Options include: 1. You can ride the chairlifts up to mid-station and hike around the top of Whistler Mountain. 2. You can play golf at one of the fabulous Pemberton or Whistler golf courses. Just in case folks are interested, we have some early t-times reserved at Big Sky in Pemberton. 3. You can go for a bike ride up the glorious Pemberton Valley. We have five or six bikes available to borrow and more can be rented at the local bike shop in Pemberton. 4. You can go for a two to three hour hike near Pemberton. Gemma’s sisters Katrina and Portia will co-lead a hike leaving from the Pemberton Valley Lodge around 10 am. 5. You can hang out at our house and play volleyball, bocce, horseshoes, and/or throw a football or a frisbee. I will be at the house to facilitate. 6. You can opt out and spend the day at the world-famous Blackbird Bakery and/or one (or both) of the two local breweries, or just hang. Type II fun is a family feature, but not a requirement! Feel free to email John Holt (john@3rascals.com) for additional details.

Question

Can I connect with other guests to coordinate carpooling and other logistics for the weekend?

Answer

You sure can. We created a slack. You can join here: https://tinyurl.com/gemmaandjohn We encourage you to use this to coordinate travel/hiking/brewery outings/trips to the spa!

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

After living together for four years, we are lucky to have almost all of the essentials for our life together! We even have a stand mixer. We truly appreciate you for making the trip to Pemby and you definitely do not need to get us a gift. But if you're still reading this, we have put together a list of our most wanted items in our Zola registry. Many are listed as "group gifts" to which you can contribute any amount that works for you. We would also be delighted if you instead brought a favorite record or cookbook to add to our collections.

Question

What are you doing about COVID-19?

Answer

We hope that COVID-19 will be a much smaller part of our lives a year from now. However, out of concern for our friends and family we ask that all guests are fully vaccinated. If you have any other questions about this, please reach out to Gemma and John.

Question

I have another question that isn't answered on the website!

Answer

Send us an email at gemmatholt@gmail.com or johncrussell25@gmail.com! Or better yet, join the slack!
