Audubon Zoo
This zoo is incredible and situated in a beautiful park! To get there, you would need to take a trolley or public transportation (as it is quite the hike from the French Quarter).
The National WWII Museum
This is one of the most thorough and incredible museums on the planet (seriously, you need to devote a whole day for this one). There is even a 4-D experience here that is narrated by America’s dad, Tom Hanks!
St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 Official Tour
New Orleans is filled with a rich (yet macabre) history. We highly recommend taking a daytime cemetery tour to find out about all of the city’s eccentricities. Keep your eyes peeled for the tomb of Nicholas Cage (yes, THE Nicholas Cage).
Café Du Monde
This is the quintessential place to get beignets and a chicory coffee. You WILL wait a while to get these. Many say the wait is worth it. It is an iconic New Orleans institution. Scroll down to see an arguably just-as-good alternative!
Cafe Beignet, Bourbon Street
There are a few locations of this beignet joint throughout the city. Not only do they offer beignets and hot chicory coffee, they also have an extensive food and beverage menu.

Take a ghost tour. Or, if you’re over 21, go on a haunted pub crawl. After all, it’s the adult tour, it’s not for kids!

Get a po boy from a local joint. There are a multitude around the city and you can’t go wrong! Need a recommendation? Get a debris po boy…or a fried oyster po boy…or a fried green tomato po boy. Actually, get them all.

Want an OG muffuletta right from the source? Go to Central Grocery. You’ll be indulging in one of Jessie’s favorite sandwiches of all time.
Cajun Pride Swamp Tours
If you have time, take a swamp tour to see some water puppies (gators, if you’re fancy). Most tours provide a shuttle from door to boat! Don’t worry, if you’re limited on time, we are getting married on a literal swamp with actual gators!

Get a drink at one of the nation’s oldest and spookiest bars!
The Carousel Bar & Lounge
Located in the Hotel Monteleone, this is one of the most unique and beautiful bars in all of New Orleans. And yes, it does actually rotate.
Emeril's
It’s touristy, but this is THE original Emeril’s restaurant. The banana cream pie here is absolutely breathtaking.
