Louis Armstrong International Airport (MSY) is the main airport for traveling in and out of New Orleans. If you're coming from the Chicago area, United and American both have direct flights to New Orleans. If you're traveling from the East Coast, be prepared to make a connection through Atlanta. If you're coming from California, Delta has a direct flight from LAX to MSY daily.
No trip to New Orleans is complete without a visit to the French Quarter but there are lots of other neighborhoods worth staying in. Here are some hotel recommendations outside of the French Quarter based on neighborhood:
