We LOVE a good walking tour in any city but the French Quarter in New Orleans is a special place! If you're feeling brave, check out a haunted walking tour at night. You won't be disappointed! If you're ready to get out of the quarter, a tour around the beautiful homes in the Garden District and/or any of the cemetery tours is another must do while you're visiting.
Ya'll will be in town during a very special time in New Orleans - crawfish season! If you've ever wondered what those ugly little mud bugs taste like, visit Clesi's Seafood where you can enjoy them by the pound. Pro tip - go later in the afternoon because later in the day = better tasting crawfish. Best enjoyed with a cold Abita beer.
City Park is arguably the crown jewel of New Orleans! It is HUGE and there is something for everyone to do here, especially for the kiddos. Some of the highlights inside City Park include: The New Orleans Museum of Modern Art (NOMA) The Children's Museum Storyland Big Lake - a great place to rent bikes and swan boats! Bayou Oaks Golf Course
Of course, no trip to New Orleans is complete without tasting a light and fluffy beignet covered in powdered sugar. While Cafe du Monde is probably the most recognizable, many locals would argue that Cafe Beignet has equal, if not superior, beignets. Often the line is much shorter too. Honestly, we never met a beignet we didn't like so matter where you go, you'll enjoy 'em!
