Travel Note
JFK and Newark are both easily accessible by public transit. From JFK, the Airtrain connects to the subway and costs about $11 per person. From Newark, New Jersey transit connects to the subway at Penn Station and costs about $17 per person. United flies into Newark, which is a very manageable airport. JFK is huge and has every airline, but can be a hike to get in and out of. LaGuardia, which is closest to the Lower East Side, is fresh from a major overhaul with brand-new terminals and looks great. Delta, American, and Southwest all fly into LaGuardia. It's small and very manageable, but you'll need a cab to get there and back. Cabs have had better fares ($30-40) than Uber or Lyft (can be around $60 at peak times) lately if there is no traffic.
Travel Note
NYC has a great full range of hotels and and AirBNBs in every neighborhood. We recommend staying close to the reception venue in the Lower East Side, or East Village. Hotels there are new, trendy, and relatively inexpensive. Plus, you won't have far to travel when the evening comes to a close. If you do choose to stay outside of the neighborhood, be sure to choose a place with easy access to to the F,M,J, and Z trains. Here are a few recommended options:
