Gentlemen, pair button-downs with lively prints—Hawaiian shirts are welcome—just complement them with some slacks. And of course, don't leave behind your sunglasses!

Okinawa is incredibly hot, and the humidity only makes it worse. To stay cool, pack light fabrics, tank tops, shorts, sun hats, comfortable footwear, and ample beachwear. A lightweight rain jacket is also advisable due to the possibility of rain, but leave your jeans behind. The beaches here are often very rocky and purchasing swimming shoes locally is an option in case you don't own any. Sunscreen is absolutely essential, but there's no need to overpack it as Japanese sunscreen is available for purchase during your visit.
