Ouray is about 40 minutes from Top of the Pines. This area is considered the "Switzerland of Colorado". Ouray has a cute downtown area to visit, and many many hiking trails around.

Telluride is about an hour from Top of the Pines and has a nice downtown area with many hiking trails around. Before planning a hike in this area, be sure to check if permits are needed.

Amazing drive through the mountains that will be spectacular during the fall. Takes 1 to 2 hours to drive and may be considered scary to people scared of heights.
