Estes Park is only a 30 minute drive from Lyons! Half way up the pass is Colorado Cherry Company- pies, jellies, candies, pie filling, butter, EVERYTHING LOCAL CHERRY! Once in Estes Park, we suggest exploring The Stanley Hotel, which was where Stephen King wrote "The Shinng" and where it was also filmed. We personally suggest taking one of their ghost tours! (The nightime tour is scary!) If you'd lilke to revisit Molly's old stomping grounds, book a horse ride at Sombrero Stables! They have a ton of different rides depending on skill level and long you'd like to ride. *Molly personally suggests the private 2-hour ride* If you're feeling adventurous, Trail Ridge Road is incredibly beautiful, however, is NOT suggested for those who aren't used to driving through the mountains/have a fear of heights! This is quite literally the roof of the continent!
Lyons is home to a ton of famous beers, such as Oskar Blues. The original brewery is downtown! Lyons is also known for their blue grass music scene- many breweries have regular live concerts with local artists. Downtown Lyons hosts a ton of "Colorado-y" stores- think rocks/crystals, craft stores, tourist shops, organic foods, etc. Lyons is home to the St. Vrain River, which is great for everything from tubing to fishing! We highly suggest tubing- it's a slow and steady river with a couple great rapids!
