We're Getting Married!

In 2015, Laura took a much needed vacation to sunny California with one of her best friends and now bridesmaid, Lindsey. While having dinner and drinks at The Strand House in Manhattan Beach on their last night before flying back to Chicago, they started chatting with a bar patron who turned out to be one of Matt's best friends and now groomsman, Donny. After a fun weekend and many years of wanting to move to Southern California, Laura brought Lindsey back with her a few months later to decide if it was time to make the West Coast their next home. To help explore more of the Hermosa Beach area, they connected with Donny and a few of his friends..queue the entrance of Matt Knapp. At the time, Matt worked for Beats-Apple where he helped launch the Apple Music phone app. Now, Laura being her technology un-savvy self thought Matt was super helpful when he got her phone set up with the app and showed her how to use it. After that trip, Matt and Laura kept in touch over the next year sharing new music back and forth (luckily our taste in music was similar!) Laura and Lindsey spent another long weekend in sunny SoCal in 2016 where Matt and Laura planned a day of Happy Hour fun on the Hermosa pier where sparks flew. Just 6 weeks later they met halfway for a weekend in Denver as their "official" 1st date. Every 6 weeks from then on, Laura was in Hermosa or Matt was in Chicago for the next 9 months until Laura made the big move - and the rest is history!
