Patrick with the help of Emily Connor planned the perfect engagement surprise. They had their work cut out for them, as Shay made it clear she would know if Patrick ask her to get dressed up to go out anywhere during the pandemic. Patrick knew Emily would be able to hatch a plan that truly tricked Shay into a surprise engagement - and so they started plotting! All the while Patrick has coordinated with Shay's cousin Madeline (@madelinefayephoto) to photograph the whole thing! Shay thinks she is going to a Fort Worth Police Department Special Units Awards Ceremony at the Worthington hotel for Emily's mom Dallas Connor. (A rouse they new she wouldn't refuse!) Shay and Emily go up the elevator, turn the corner and there they are! Patrick ready to pop the question! Patrick gets down on one knee, asks Shay to be his wife, and with glee she agrees. The two spent the next few hour going around downtown capturing the bliss of the moment.

Shay and Patrick met at Texas Tech in 2010. The two were fast friends, but didn't begin their romantic relationship until 2013 when the two realized that the first person they wanted to tell anything was to the other. They left Lubbock and moved to Fort Worth in 2014 where they reside today.
