If you have any questions that are not listed here, please reach out to us at thekirschbaumwedding@gmail.com
Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Technically speaking, we encourage any of the following dress codes: dressy casual, semiformal (cocktail), and formal. We would love to see you dress up! Pull out those fun patterns & vibrant colors (our venue has a lot of white walls, so bright colors would make for great photos) and those pieces you've been yearning to wear but can never find the right occasion to sport. Above all, we want you to feel comfortable and confident.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your party includes a plus one, it will be specified on your invitation. Please be sure to list their full name while RSVPing.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we would love to see all of your AMAZING kiddos, we are only inviting children over the age of 10 to our wedding. We made this decision in hopes of allowing all our guests, parents included, an evening of relaxation and fun. The only exception to this is the children within our wedding party—the flower girl(s) and ring bearer. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Question

Wait, is your wedding really on a Thursday?

Answer

YES!! Believe it or not, Thursday and Sunday weddings have become increasingly popular in recent years. There are two reasons we elected to have a Thursday wedding: 1) Venue rates are significantly reduced on weekdays, which means we can put more care into other important aspects of our wedding, such as food, activities, and music. 2) For a significant portion of our guest list, taking off of work on a weekday is actually easier than on a weekend. Our hope is that by sending our Save the Dates 5-6 months in advance, we gave everyone interested in attending our wedding ample opportunity to make plans and adjust schedules accordingly. Please know that if you can't make this less-conventional date work with your schedule, we completely understand. P.S. If taking off on Thursday IS feasible for you, consider taking off Friday too. Who doesn't love a long weekend?!

Question

How should we RSVP?

Answer

We are only accepting RSVPs online, not via snail mail. With your invitation, there should have been a black RSVP card that contains a QR code. If you scan the QR code with your phone, it will lead you directly to our wedding website's RSVP page. You can also type in www.zola.com/wedding/farrah-thomas/rsvp. We chose this route because your online RSVP will automatically update our guest count, which ensures easy tracking. This also eliminates the risk of potential mail delivery issues. If you have any questions about or difficulties with RSVPing online, please let us know.

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

Please RSVP no later than May 1, 2024! The earlier the better. Having a correct head count is of utmost importance for instructing and paying our vendors, our own planning, etc. If you do not RSVP by May 1, 2024, we will assume you cannot attend.

Question

What if I missed the RSVP deadline or need to make changes?

Answer

If you RSVP'd yes but need to change information or withdraw your attendance PRIOR to the deadline, you can simply do so online. If you RSVP'd yes but need to change information or withdraw your attendance AFTER the deadline, please contact us at thekirschbaumwedding@gmail.com or Farrah via text at (612) 237-9263. If for some reason you missed the deadline but are still hoping to attend, please reach out to us at the same contact info listed above. We cannot promise to still have availability, but we will do our best because you are important to us.

Question

Where is the event located, and is it indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our ceremony is at Lyndale Park in Minneapolis, near the Rose Garden. This will be entirely outdoors. Our reception is at Urban Daisy in Minneapolis. This will be entirely indoors (though you are welcome to step outside for fresh air whenever you'd like).

Question

What is the parking situation?

Answer

For the ceremony at Lyndale Park, you can either park in the paid lot (limited availability) or along one of the roads nearby for free. If you check out the "Travel" page of our wedding website, there are further details about ceremony parking, including a map highlighting acceptable parking areas, payment details, etc. There is free parking on site at Urban Daisy, our reception venue.

Question

Can I leave my car overnight at Urban Daisy?

Answer

Overnight parking is permitted at Urban Daisy if parked in the onsite lot. All vehicles must be removed by 10:00 am the following day. The venue reserves the right to tow cars left beyond 10:00 am. We will be offering shuttle service to our hotel block the night of the wedding.

Question

What time should I arrive to the ceremony site?

Answer

The official start time for the ceremony is 3:00 pm. We recommend guests arrive at least 15 minutes prior to account for parking and to get settled before the proceedings. Further details about parking options are listed on the "Travel" page of our wedding website.

Question

What time does the wedding end?

Answer

We all must leave Urban Daisy by midnight. Tear-down and vendor departure begin at 11 pm.

Question

Have you established a hotel block anywhere?

Answer

Thomas and I (and our parties) will be staying at the Hampton Inn in Roseville/Minneapolis. This hotel is around 7 minutes away from Urban Daisy. Please note, we will NOT be establishing a hotel block, so if you're interested in staying in the same hotel as us, we encourage you to make your reservation soon. Since it is a weekday, it probably won't book out... but you never know. :-) There are a plethora of other hotel and Airbnb options near Urban Daisy you're welcome to choose from instead, including a Home2Suites right next door to our Hampton Inn. A shuttle will operate on the night of the wedding, taking guests to any hotel within a 5 mile radius of the venue. We are planning a gift opening the following morning at our hotel.

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We are having an unplugged ceremony, so we kindly ask you NOT to take your phones out during the ceremony, especially for pictures. There will also be a sign present on site to remind everyone of this. The reason we established this rule is because we hired photographers and videographers whose sole purposes are to capture our special and important moments. We are hoping to look back on photos of our guests enjoying the ceremony, not holding their devices up for pictures. When we receive our photographs back from the photographer, you are welcome to post any of them to social media. You are also welcome to take and post photos all throughout the remainder of the evening.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Unfortunately, we can't accurately predict the weather this far in advance, but we'll update this section closer to the date of the wedding and reach out to you if any significant changes are necessary. (Fingers crossed for no rain!). Since the ceremony is outdoors with no shade or covering, please come prepared with sunscreen, sunglasses, and/or a hat if needed. Minnesota weather is unpredictable, so if it is still a little chilly, you may want to consider a jacket or shawl.

Question

Can I bring my gift to the wedding?

Answer

Please know your love and presence are present enough. Should you wish to bring a gift to our wedding, there will be a card & gift table at the reception.

Question

Do I need to attend both the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Please attend whatever you can and would like to. We recognize that a Thursday afternoon ceremony might not be feasible for some of our guests, so if it is the case that you can only come later in the evening, we would still graciously accept and enjoy your presence at the reception. This is why we give everyone the option to RSVP to specific portions of our wedding day. We'd love to see you for it all, but it certainly is not required!

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

We are hosting unlimited drinks for our guests between 4:30 pm and 7:30 pm. After this time frame, it switches to a cash bar. Please consume alcoholic beverages safely!

Question

Are there any other wedding events I can attend?

Answer

Why should the fun stop after just one day?! Many of our guests are choosing to take Friday off as well to enjoy a long weekend. If this sounds appealing to you and is something you can accommodate with work, fabulous! Please know, though, that we have zero expectations. The itinerary below is simply an option if you'd like to continue to celebrate with us: Thursday, June 6th: Wedding. (Partayyy!) Friday, June 7th: Sleep in. Gift opening at hotel. Further events TBD.

Question

Is the wedding wheelchair accessible?

Answer

For sure! Urban Daisy's handicap parking is on the back side of the building, next to the loading dock. There are four handicap-accessible parking spots, and a handicap-accessible ramp is located directly in front of the parking spots. If we are notified in advance, we can arrange for someone to meet you at the doors and guide you inside.

Question

Who do I contact with questions?
