Celeste Seaton

Holder of the Broom and Witness

Jumping the Broom is a very special tradition. When African Americans were enslaved and weren't allowed to get married they came up with other ways to celebrate love. Using a tradition brought over from Africa to symbolize a couple's relationship evolving to the next level. Held by someone very important to the couple they would jump over a broom threshold to symbolize the transitioning into literal domestic bliss

Sam Camerato

Reader of Hebrew Prayer - Breaking of the Glass

After the bride has been given the ring, or at the end of the ceremony (depending on local custom), the groom breaks a glass, crushing it with his right foot, and the guests shout: "Mazel Tov!" (Hebrew: "congratulations"). Breaking of the Glass symbolizes the destruction of the Jewish temple in Jerusalem. Couples include this tradition in their wedding ceremony as it symbolizes the absolute finality of the marital covenant

Ruska Sakuro

Candle Lighter

A Candle lighting ceremony will be held during the Reception. Please join us in taking a few moments of silence while Ruska lights Candles and recites the names of passed loved ones with the intention to recognize and remember them all although they can't join us on this special day Earth side.

For all the days along the way
