Please dress for a garden wedding. We recommend making sure you have an outer layer, as fall in the mountains can get very chilly at night! For women, we strongly recommend wearing comfortable shoes, such as flats or something with a thicker heel. The ceremony is outside in a grassy area, and we’d hate to see anyone’s heel sink into grass! The botanic gardens and yampa river area are gorgeous for walking around before or after the ceremony.
The city of Steamboat Springs provides free public transportation. Truly. You do not need a ticket, an app, an ID, or anything else to hop on. There are multiple bus routes that run downtown, to the mountain base, and around the surrounding areas. If you’re at a bus stop, you can generally expect one to come within 10-15 minutes. The buses are clean, reliable, and used by both locals and tourists!
Steamboat public transportation is free and often the best way to get around! Download the RouteShout app for bus routes, schedules, exact bus locations, and ETA.
About 1.5 miles. Our official transportation recommendation is to take the Steamboat free bus, which has stops nearby both venues (We will update this FAQ with exact stop names once the summer/fall bus routes are live!). Additionally, the Yampa River Core Trail runs alongside both venues, which is a gorgeous walking trail if you’re interested in walking a few blocks before hopping on the bus at any subsequent stop between the venues. Downtown Steamboat Springs is between the ceremony and reception venues, so feel free to jump off the bus and having a refreshment in town before meeting us at the reception!
Our reception will be catered by Mountain Tap Brewery, an awesome local brewery and restaurant! We will have a pizza buffet (in addition to some appetizers and salads). You do not need to select a meal. Simply let us know if you have any dietary restrictions (vegetarian, gluten free, allergies), so that we can make sure we have that option!
The Yampa Valley Botanic Park is a relatively small park (approximately 6 acres). Our ceremony will be held on The Green, which is less than 0.1 mile from either entrance. We'll be hard to miss!
You shouldn't! Aside from getting from the airport to your lodging, Steamboat Springs is very accessible by public bus (see above). However, if you would like to rent a car, we have had good experiences with the company "Turo" (https://turo.com/) when in Steamboat. Turo is similar to AirBnb, where people rent out their own cars via an app. The Steamboat Springs airport (HDN) will have a sign for "Turo Handoff" when you exit Arrivals. Contact us if you have questions!
