Our Engagement Video

How we met! Erykah's Perspective

8/20/16

We meet in college during orientation week, we found each others company to be unmatched. We instantly clicked and felt like we have known each other for years. When we had our first couple of interactions, neither one of us thought we would eventually be dating. We just really enjoyed each others company. About a week later, we went on our first date. Then we went on our second date to celebrate Stephen's Birthday a couple of weeks later. We talked everyday, we met in the dining hall and had breakfast, lunch and dinner together. We would stop by to visit each other between classes. We would meet in the study rooms and did homework together. It felt like every second mattered. Being with each other mattered. We were bestfriends and we really had the chance to connect on a deeper level. We talked about things from the past and thought of the future. It just so happened we saw each other in that future. We motivated each other by sharing aspirations and goals. We made college easy by having a each other to go through it with. After four years of dating, and three years of being engaged, we can't wait to say, "I DO" with you. #ITSABOUTDAMNTIME

The Proposal Stephen's Perspective

2/14/20

On February 14, 2020, we went out to eat at one of Erykah's favorite restaurants with a group of friends for a Valentines "Galentines" Day dinner. After dinner all of us went back to the apartment to watch a romantic movie in light of the Holiday! Most would think at any given time throughout these series of events that I went down on one knee. Nope! I was too nervous. Around 1am, February 15th, 2020, Erykah decided to get ready to go to bed. She put on her pajamas and wrapper her hair in her bonnet. It was then I gained more confidence to ask, but I was still nervous. After she got out of the bathroom I told her I wanted to talk to her about something, and now I'm even more nervous. I grabs her hands, while mine were shaking. She looks worried because I probably look like I just crapped my pants. I said, Erykah, you are all the things that I want in life. I love everything about you and who you are. I love how smart, creative, and determined you are. As I go on rambling, because I do that when i'm anxious, I tell her what I love about her, and how I wants to spend the rest of my life with her. My hands are hot, sweaty, and shaky. She is realizing what is happening. I finally gets down on one knee, and ask..... "Will you marry me?" None of this is on video because I was so nervous and I forgot to record it.
