Pamela and Erin met through work in 2008 when Erin’s company was awarded a contract to build the Huntmar Police facility in Kanata. They worked together for 18 months on that project fiercely negotiating every little detail. In spite of that, they stayed in touch over the years. When personal circumstances changed in 2014, Erin bravely asked Pamela on a first date. Their tales of the event follows……. Erin’s version When Pamela failed to show at Milestones - Kanata (because Kanata is naturally the Centre of the single male golfer’s Universe), a phone call from her revealed that she was at the “wrong” Milestone’s restaurant. She had cunningly tried to test his commitment early on by making him work extra hard for this date. Since then Erin has helped Pamela work on her communication skills. Pamela’s version When Erin failed to show up at Milestone’s - Pinecrest (because Kanata is NOT the Centre of the Universe; and Pinecrest was previously used for project lunches so wouldn't it be safe to assume is was the “right” Milestones?), Pamela brazenly called Erin to say “WTH (What the Hell)"? Helping Erin save face, Pamela made the trip to Kanata to explain how communication really works! Dating provided an endless sea of adventures and the proposal was born.

Enter Covid when planning became a magnificent challenge.  Erin, ever the "problem solver” quickly pivoted from a Tahiti proposal (or so he says!) to a romantic getaway in downtown Ottawa during WINTER (WTH?).  The streets of Ottawa and the hotel were pretty much empty so it felt like they owned the City.   Erin popped the question during an in-room dining experience complete with champagne and roses (but sadly no sand).   In true keeping with their beginnings they negotiated every detail late into the night when Pamela excitedly proclaimed….YES!   To help them celebrate the event, the  good news was shared by the first and only other person they saw at the hotel; the in-room server.  She was equally thrilled! And the magical journey began.
