Things To Do

Acadia National Park

Acadia National Park

Acadia National Park is just minutes from Bar Harbor! We highly suggest everyone spends time exploring the national park. There are some truly amazing hikes and bike rides. Some of our favorite hikes are the Parkman hike and the Beehive Hike - Jordan Pond Restaurant within Acadia is known for their popovers if looking for a nice post hike snack. If driving a car within Acadia, please note you will need to purchase a Park Pass. If looking to rent a bike, you can just rent from Bar Harbor bike shop. The have both regular bikes and electric bikes for those who are interested (https://barharborbike.com/booknow/)

Cranberry Isles

Cranberry Isles

For those who wish to spend more time out on a boat, there is a public ferry to takes off from Northeast Harbor and goes to the various islands within Cranberry Isles. We will also visit Little Cranberry Island and eat at the Dock Restaurant for the Rehearsal Dinner! There are various walking paths, some shops, a museum, etc. on the various islands for those interested in exploring. Link to the ferry schedule: https://www.bealandbunkerferry.com/ferry-schedule

Northeast / Southwest Harbor

Northeast / Southwest Harbor

On the other side of Mt. Desert Island from Bar Harbor are two others towns we really enjoy called Northeast Harbor and Southwest Harbor. There is a boat tour at of Northeast Harbor on the Sea Princess that also has a guide. Link to tickets: https://barharborcruises.com/cruises/ Both have plenty of stores and restaurants should you wish to explore those towns! Some of our favorite places include the following: Southwest Harbor - Beal's Lobster Pound, Little Notch Bakery, Claremont Hotel for a drink (or fancy dinner! If doing dinner, make a reservation EARLY, but we love this spot). Northeast Harbor - Abel's Lobster Pound, Milk & Honey, Mainely Meat BBQ / Atlantic Brewery

Bar Harbor Restaurants

Bar Harbor Restaurants

Havana (both food and drinks, especially the mojito, are fantastic). Recommend making a reservation early! This is our favorite restaurant in Bar Harbor. Project Social Kitchen & Bar (seen in the above photo, GREAT gin and tonics and cute outdoor seating) Lunch Bar Harbor (excellent sandwiches for lunch) Brasserie LeBrun

Golf

In the foothills of Acadia National Park, there is a great public golf course for those interested in golf. Here is a link to the course website: https://kebovalleyclub.com/ (note - they do have clubs available to rent).
