Wedding Party

We consider ourselves luckier than most to have these folks listed below as not only a part of our wedding but a part of our lives

Mackenzie Whipple

Maid of Honor - Friend of the Bride

Mackenzie and Trisha have been friends since elementary school. To say they did everything together would be an understatement. They took dance classes together, skipped dance classes together, tried out for sports teams together, didn’t make said sports teams together....you get the point. (The tennis debacle of Junior year will live in infamy). They formed a bond early in life for which Trisha is forever grateful. They lived together in college, and then lived far, far apart when Trisha moved to Texas. But that bond never waned, and looking back, it seems like no time until they found themselves together again in Denver. Mackenzie’s friendship has been a true sisterhood for Trisha and she could not imagine getting married without Mackenzie by her side.

Bob Frink

Best Man - Friend of the Groom

When Eric decided to join the marching band in high school, he had no idea that he’d meet his future best man. Bob and Eric were friends in high school but their friendship didn’t really flourish until after college in 2011, when each decided that the other was “normal enough” to be their roommate. Eric and Bob lived in Apartment 2029 for three formative years, where they quickly found they enjoyed many of the same things including Dale’s Pale Ale and watching football on mute with music on in the background. Bob and Eric would probably still be living together today, but Bob decided to move away to attend law school. Despite the move, and the fact he somehow became a Patriots fan, they’ve remained great friends and continue to have deep football discussions over text message.

Julie Peterson

Bridesmaid - Friend of the Bride

Julie and Trisha met in middle school, became fast friends in high school, lived together in college, and have stayed close ever since. Julie has been a great person with whom to navigate life. They learned all the hottest dance moves 2005 had to offer at Nightstorm, (probably) dominated a few beer pong tables as Team Cranston in Iowa City, if memory serves correctly (it likely doesn’t), and they were even both Texans for a brief period of time. They traded the quick drive from Dallas to Austin for a quick fight from Denver to Chicago, and though they live in separate states once again, they’ve managed to remain close, thanks to the art of the group text and the two-hour phone call. Trisha is thrilled to have Julie standing with her through another big life event.

Chris Judice

Groomsman - Friend of the Groom

Chris and Eric originally met in 1994 in Kindergarten, but didn’t become friends until 2nd grade when they ended up in the same class and their moms recognized each other at a parent teacher event. As their parents became incredibly close friends, naturally, Chris and Eric became incredibly close friends. Chris and Eric have had a ton of adventures together: Cub scouts and boy scouts, playing trombone, Mardi Gras, many backpacking trips, beach trips, boating adventures (I still feel bad about that rib, Chris!), and ski trips. Despite Chris’ crazy work schedule, Eric has always looked forward to Chris’s infamous “back” texts letting him know he was back in town (literally only the word “back”). They live in different cities now, but whenever they see each other it’s like nothing's changed.

Sarah A'Hearn

Bridesmaid - Friend of the Bride

Technically, Sarah and Trisha first met when they were one-month-old infants baptized at the same mass. They obviously probably hit it off from the start, but the friendship remained dormant until first grade, when they both found themselves at St. Joes Elementary. From there things really took off. Their bond strengthened through the years with the help of Nsync, Molly Shannon, and Tenacious D. This proved to be a pretty solid foundation, as their friendship endured through attending different colleges, living in different cities, and eventually different states. Trisha is lucky to have a lifelong friend in Sarah and is thrilled that she will be standing up with her on the big day.

Austin Pierce

Groomsman - Friend of the Groom

Eric and Austin were coincidentally on the same soccer team in 4th grade, but didn’t truly become friends until they were in the same trombone class in 6th grade. Their friendship quickly developed when they noticed many similarities in one another, including sweet bowl cuts and a shared broken nose experience. They continued their friendship through college, and after college found themselves both living in Austin, Texas for some of their most memorable years, exploring a city they love through concerts, dive bars, and many afternoons at Lake Travis. Austin lives in DC now, but they stay connected through their shared love of the outdoors, and (of course) random sports musings.

Elizabeth Ikeler

Bridesmaid - Sis-in-law of the Bride

Elizabeth officially joined the Cranny clan in February 2018 when she married Trisha’s brother, Ben, but she had become a part of the family long before then. She introduced the Crannys to new games like Jokers and Pegs, and they introduced her to a newfound love for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Though they’ve never lived too close to one another, Trisha and Elizabeth managed to develop a close bond, thanks to a shared love of reality TV and stream-of-consciousness texting. They’ve already made many memories together through family vacations, weddings, and other celebrations, and Trisha can’t wait to have Elizabeth standing up with her on her own wedding day. Also, in the unlikely event the Crannys get a little too crazy for Eric, he’s excited to have another in-law to lean on.

Tyson Bennett

Groomsman - Friend of the Groom

Ty and Eric were neighborhood friends, but didn’t get close until they were both playing trombone in middle school. Ty introduced Eric to a lot of incredible music and concerts, including Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down, Full Service, and Eisley. Ty and Eric stayed friends through college, visiting each other in Boulder and Stillwater, respectively. Once they graduated college they both lived in Austin for some adventure-filled years, exploring every corner of an exploding city and quickly finding their favorite spots trying new beers at Opal Divines, swimming in Barton Springs, and hucking the cliffs at Tom Hughes Park. Ty eventually moved to New York, then Dallas, and although their music tastes have (somewhat) changed they have remained close friends.

Kate Stodola

Bridesmaid - Friend of the Bride

Kate and Trisha met in middle school, stayed friends throughout high school, and were roommates for three years in college. They took roommate bonding pretty seriously, dedicating ample time to Mario Kart tournaments and You Tube binge sessions, with the semi-regular study dates at T-spoons. They even taught themselves how to shotgun a beer over the kitchen sink on a quiet Tuesday night. But enough bragging.....Trisha is delighted that their friendship continued beyond Iowa City, through her stint in Dallas, where Kate often traveled for work, and now to Denver, where they live mere blocks apart! She is honored to have Kate standing up with her on her wedding day.

Kristain Lindemann

Groomsman - Friend of the Groom

While Kristain and Eric didn’t meet playing trombone, he DID play trombone at some point so Eric figured he’d be worthy to stand with him on his wedding day. Kristain and Eric met in 2010 when they both had the fortunate experience of working at the same incredible (terrible) company. While the job was less than ideal, it paid the bills and lead to a wonderful friendship. Kristain and Eric’s friendship was solidified over work lunches, happy hours, free events during SXSW, and late nights at the Cliff House. While Kristain likes to say he was Eric’s boss at one point, he could never actually fire Eric, so don’t believe him if he tells you otherwise.

Ben Cranny

Usher - Brother of the Bride

Ben's arrival to the world coincided directly with Trisha no longer being an only child. But from what it sounds like, Trisha handled it with grace and dignity, never uttering a whine or instigating a fight. Or something like that, probably. Fast forwarding several years, though, Trisha considered herself truly lucky to attend the same college as Ben for two of the same years. She shared her Iowa City wisdom with him and made several a trip to John's Grocery for him (for food, of course, never for Everclear). Their friendship grew into adulthood and Eric has enjoyed getting to know Ben over several family vacations and trips to Iowa. After being an only child for 30 years, he is excited to finally have brothers, and both Trisha and Eric can't wait to have Ben be a part of their big day.

Nick Cranny

Usher - Brother of the Bride

Nick rounded out the Cranny siblings when he made his entrance into the world. He spent his early years living up to his nickname: Screaming Eagle - a less than desirable quality in a little brother - but luckily, many more funny, cool, delightful qualities emerged and Trisha realized she got a pretty solid baby brother. Though they didn't share the overlapping college years like Trisha and Ben did, Nick capitalized on Youngest Child Perks, getting to visit Trisha in Iowa City while still in high school (a privilege Trisha likes to remind her parents would never be granted to an Oldest Child). At least this breach in fairness led to a stronger friendship/sibling bond! Eric is pumped to be getting not one but two new brothers, and they're both excited for Nick to be a part of their big day.

Phil Behmer

Officiant - Friend of the Bride and Groom

Although Phil and Trisha have known each other since middle school, their friendship kicked into overdrive after college. When Trisha moved to Denver, she caught wind that Phil's roommate had moved out and he was in need of a new one. What started as moving into his place, sight unseen, for a few months, turned into two and a half years of blissful cohabitation, complete with backgammon nights, Seinfeld marathons, poke bets, cookouts, and more. Eric got to know Phil quickly across the many weekend visits that ensued, thanks in large part to Phil, along with his now-wife Megan, being two of the most endlessly hospitable people you'll ever meet. It was only fitting to have Trisha's old friend, who grew into an adult friend, who became a friend to both of them, help officiate their big day.

Rob Smith

Officiant - Friend of the Bride and Groom

Rob is one half of Trisha and Eric's first couple-crush. They met him and his counterpart, Abby, in the spring of 2017 and were instantly smitten. In a world where they had been getting to know and developing friendships with each other's existing, awesome friends (see above), it was a new delight to forge this friendship together! All four of them share an equal passion for scouting the best dive bars that are closest to home, while half of them share an equal passion for Rage Against the Machine cover bands - the other half being Abby and Trisha. They've even shared more monumental milestones together, including Eric and Trisha getting to watch them navigate new-parenthood with their little one. Eric and Trisha are overjoyed to have Rob help officiate this next big milestone.

Silvi Whipple

Flower Girl

Silvi is the only member of the wedding party who has known both Trisha AND Eric for her entire life. She's the newest member of their little friend group, but people have taken quite the liking to her. She has been honing her walking skills recently in anticipation of her duties. If she could speak in full sentences (Trisha's working on it), she would probably say she's as honored to be their flower girl as they are to have her.
