The Love Boat

Eric and Trisha met on what is now historically referred to as the Love Boat. It was the summer of 2014 and Trisha was in the process of planning her move from Dallas to Denver when her dear friend, Katy, invited her at the last minute to a party on a boat. It was hosted by some guy Katy sort of knew through friends from her high school. (Spoiler alert, that guy she sort of knew is now her husband and the father of her child, but that’s a story for a different website). Anyhow, Trisha had nothing else going on that weekend (or maybe she had to cancel a lot of super cool plans with super cool people...you don’t know) so she decided to go. Katy had mentioned that Trisha would be meeting several of her high school friends, and who might that include but the other star of this website, Eric! He and Ty had come from Austin and NYC, respectively, along with some other Westwood alum, to attend the boat soirée as well. One thing led to another, kegs were tapped, bags were slapped, Ty fancied himself a matchmaker, and Trisha and Eric hit it off. We fast forward one month now, solely for the sake of brevity, to Trisha living in Denver. She and Eric would text, maybe once a month, to see how life was going. This quickly became once a week, which morphed into every other day, which lead to Eric stopping through Denver after one of his ski trips. This, they consider the official jumping off point of their relationship, which blossomed as a long distance one for the first year and a half, sponsored by Southwest Airlines. They then went from being long distance straight into living together in a tiny apartment without killing each other, so they decided it would be safe to get married. Eric proposed on a bridge in downtown Denver and then pulled off the most epic surprise engagement party, complete with family and friends traveling from Iowa, Texas, Arizona, and Washington. There were hugs, laughter, happy tears, and cheers, and that pretty much brings us to today.

For all the days along the way
