Things To Do

We have a MASSIVE list of recs in this Google Doc here because we are insane

We've consolidated the hits below :)

Thousand Oaks Cafe II

1271 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78209

Whenever we come to SA and don't stop here Eric gets legitimately upset. Get a Big Red, a migas taco and a bean and cheese taco (or barbacoa!)

W D Deli & Bakery

3123 Broadway, San Antonio, TX 78209

A longtime childhood fave. Sandwiches and cookies!

The Barn Door Restaurant & Meat Market

8400 North New Braunfels Avenue, San Antonio, TX 78209

Chicken fried steak the size of your entire body

Pete's Tako House

502 Brooklyn Avenue, San Antonio, TX 78215

Great for breakfast tacos if you're staying downtown!

The Cove

606 West Cypress Street, San Antonio, TX 78212

Amazing burgers (veg friendly!) and fun outdoor seating

Liberty Bar

1111 South Alamo Street, San Antonio, TX 78210

Great American food in a super fun setting!

Panchito's Mexican Restaurant

4100 McCullough Avenue, San Antonio, TX 78212

An absolute classic Tex Mex spot. No notes.

Best Quality Daughter

602 Avenue A, San Antonio, TX 78215

In case you get tired of Tex Mex :) Located at The Pearl which is a fun place to walk around, shop and grab a coffee!

The Friendly Spot Ice House

943 South Alamo Street, San Antonio, TX 78205

Lillian watched the Spurs win the 2014 NBA Championship here it's the most important place on earth

The Lonesome Rose

2114 North Saint Mary's Street, San Antonio, TX 78212

Cowboy karaoke. Eric proved himself to the San Antonio community here

Bombay Bicycle Club

3506 North Saint Mary's Street, San Antonio, TX 78212

Fun and kitschy bar with cheap drinks! You are legally required to take a bathroom selfie here.

Historic Market Square

514 West Commerce Street, San Antonio, TX 78207

A lot of traditional Mexican goods and trinkets, food stands, you can kill a ton of time here!

McNay Art Museum

6000 North New Braunfels Avenue, San Antonio, TX 78209

Definitely our favorite museum in SA. It's in an old Spanish style mansion on beautiful grounds. Their permanent collection includes some Picasso, Rivera, Matisse and much more <3

San Antonio Missions National Historical Park

807 Mission Rd, San Antonio, TX 78210

A really fun activity is just exploring the old missions - best way to do this is to park at Blue Star and rent a bike, then ride down the southern end of the River Walk and hop on / off! Obviously see the touristy part of the River Walk too

For all the days along the way
