Josh and Emma met at her family New Years Party in 2021 and crossed paths every now and then at her family functions throughout college. Josh and Emma always had their eye on each other from a distance, but everything changed in the Summer of 2023 at Phil and Belle’s wedding. During the wedding, Emma and Josh walked down the aisle together and sparked an idea in many minds of her family. While lots of people encouraged Josh and Emma to approach each other, they gave it some time and prayer to really think it through. After a few weeks, Josh realized that even though he was moving to San Diego soon, he knew if he didn't pursue Emma he would always regret it. So, Josh asked her out and she decided to give him a chance! Less than two weeks after their first date, Josh moved to San Diego for work. After weeks of long FaceTime calls everyday, Josh and Emma met up at Huntington the day she moved to college for her senior year and made it official on August 23rd, 2023. For the next year, Emma and Josh's love grew from a distance, but no distance could separate them for long. Every couple weeks they would meet up in San Diego, Huntington, Santa Clarita, and NorCal for fun-packed weekends filled with lots of beach trips and fun around SoCal. On May 4th, Josh told Emma he loved her and the thoughts of getting married started to feel like a potential reality. As Josh's first year in San Diego came to an end, he decided to move back to NorCal to be closer to Emma and their families. Once he arrived in Sacramento, their love grew even stronger and they enjoyed seeing each other more often. After less than two months of being back in Sacramento, Josh asked for Eric and Jen’s permission to marry Emma and they gave him a shot! The next day, Josh and Emma went ring shopping and found the exact one she wanted. On a magical day on October 24th in Florida with Emma’s family, Josh proposed and Emma said yes! The Lord has tremendously blessed Emma and Josh with each other and they are so excited to spend the rest of their lives together. Many more memories to come!
