Founded in 1750, Wade's Mill is Virginia's oldest continuously operating commercial grist mill. Tour the 3-story mill, visit the store, walk to the water wheel, tour the gardens and picnic areas. Food is not served, but you are encouraged to bring a picnic. Family and dog friendly.

A 936-acre preserve protecting the 3.7-mile Goshen Pass gorge on the Maury River. Take a scenic drive, pulling over to snap some incredible photos of the gorce and surrounding forests. Pack a picnic to enjoy by the Maury River in the Wayside picnic area. Bring your bathing suit to swim, wade, or float in the mountain water. Play on the river rocks. Go for a hike. (Laurel Run is a 3-mile round-trip hike that features waterfall and seasonal rhododendron and mountain laurel. Goshen Pass/Jump Rock hike is a more challenging 9.1 mile hike that features beautiful views from the top of Jump Mountain.) Go fishing on the upper portion of the Pass, which is stocked with sunfish, rock bass, and smallmouth bass.

Take a horse-drawn tour with Lexington Carriage Company. If you're in the shopping mood, visit Pappagallo--Emily's favorite boutique and first place of employment. Susie may even offer you a beer!
