How do I get there?

Sandy Point and Wares Wharf are in the middle of ... nowhere. Which we love it! We appreciate everyone's willingness to make the trek to celebrate our big day. Richmond airport (RIC) is the closest airport, about 1 hour from Wares Wharf and 1.5 hours from Sandy Point. Upon landing in Richmond, we recommend renting a car for the weekend. Charlottesville, Richmond, and Baltimore guests are recommended to drive. (~2.5 hrs, 1.5 hrs, and 3.5 hrs, respectively) Charlotte guests are recommended to drive (~5.5 hrs) or fly into RIC and coordinate a car rental to share amongst friends. New York guests are recommended to fly into RIC and coordinate a car rental to share amongst friends.

Should I rent a car?

If flying into Richmond (RIC), we highly recommend renting a car amongst friends. There are no ubers or food delivery services in Sandy Point, and very limited ubers in Wares Wharf, for any additional activities you may want to explore while you are in town. Please be responsible and always select a designated driver!

What should I bring?
Answer
Pack for a summer beach weekend! Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, swimsuits, a water bottle, and a beach towel. The attire for the welcome party and the wedding is Summer Cocktail: women should wear summer dresses or skirts and men should wear pants, a coat and tie.
