"But what should I wear??" Glad you asked—think garden party meets hiking. Comfortable walking shoes, sundresses and collared t-shirts. Sometimes it can get windy here, so bring an extra sweater just in case. Bow ties, boas, sun hats, sequins—all welcome.
Please leave pups at home—they can join for the hike on Sunday! For the ceremony, we'll have hay bales and picnic blankets—if you prefer, you can bring your own camp chair. After the ceremony, we’ll share a picnic pizza dinner and will have some toasts, do some dancing, go for a walk together, and watch an epic sunset. Note: our address doesn’t yet come up in Google Maps (but it does on Apple maps), so you can use the GPS coordinates: 38.725045, -106.159899. Our address: 21219 Skyline Dr, Nathrop, CO 81236 --> From the hot springs, drive east up the hill and turn right onto CR289 (skip to last paragraph). --> From Hwy 24, turn west onto CR162 and drive the long straight away. Once the speed limit reduces, turn left (south) onto CR289. Take your first left onto Skyline Dr. and go around the hairpin curve. You’ll see our place on the right—21219—park on the road either at our driveway or passed our driveway and park in the cul-de-sac just up the road.
9:00 am - 3:00 pm
If you want to join in for the group hike: you can meet at the Lost Lake trailhead at 11am to hike up. Be sure to check out the Alltrails link below to familiarize yourself with the hike. Don't forget to bring your swim suit! If you want a little more adrenaline (and pain), join the group triathlon! Bring a bike or rent one in town and meet us at the pull off on HWY 306 heading up Cottonwood Pass by the San Isabel National Forest sign (38.814558, -106.203500). You can leave your car there. We'll bike roughly 14 miles up to the Continental Divide (note: this is roughly 3,500ft of elevation gain). We will then bike down to the Lost Lake trailhead (roughly a mile from the top), meet up with the rest of the hikers around 11am, and hike/jog up to the lake (roughly 2 miles). We'll finish it off with a swim across an alpine lake! We'll then bike down!! Be sure to bring a packed lunch, snacks, and plenty of water!
