Like all good millennials, we used the power of a dating app to find each other. After briefly chatting digitally, we decided to meet in person at Coffee Buddha, a small coffee shop in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. Our coffee date turned into dinner, which turned into an outing at Top Golf, which turned into a second date the next week. We hit it off pretty quickly and wondered how it was possible that we'd never met before even though we lived so close to one another and both attended Duquesne University. Three years later, we got engaged at the exact location where we met!
Trying to recreate our first date, Sal planned dinner for the two of us the night before his birthday. On the way to dinner, he pulled over into the snow-covered parking lot of the Coffee Buddha where we had our first date. It was cold outside, so I wondered why he wanted to get out of the car and "check it out" when we were on our way to dinner. We walked up to the front porch of the coffee shop, where Sal said he had a very important question to ask. I was shocked and excited when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. And of course I said "YES!"
