Ramped Up

The Story Since COVID

In March of 2020, Alec and Emily's wedding plans were flipped upside down due to the pandemic spreading across the globe. Although things took a sharp left turn, they stuck to their guns and were married on their originally planned date - June 20th, 2020. They were able to exchange vows at St. Monica-St. George, just down the road from UC, as they had set their minds to sixteen months prior. Close friends and family joined in their joy as they were married and became Mr. and Mrs. Rampe. Starting their married lives together, Alec and Emily relocated back to the Greater Cincinnati area, started new jobs, and began preparing for their wedding celebration in March. They are so excited to finally get to celebrate with all of their family and friends and cannot wait to see all of you in a safe and fun environment at their reception!

Road to Rampe

A Bearcat Love Story

When they found out at their on campus jobs at the University of Cincinnati in 2016 that they were going to be stuck in Langsam Library every Wednesday working together for three hours, Alec and Emily certainly wouldn't have believed that in just two and a half short years they'd be racking their brains trying to write their story on a wedding website. But here we are. In the Fall of 2017, two people who started out as casual friends, coworkers, and college neighbors developed a regular routine of hanging out and doing homework. Even when Emily didn't have (or just didn't want to do) any homework. It was senior year and amidst job applications and thesis papers, they quickly realized that this little romance was not just a college fling. After a short time, Alec invited Emily to her first NFL game, which was NOT to watch her hometown Bengals, but instead Alec's favorite team - the Indianapolis Colts. That certainly should have been a sign that they just might be something more. In a whirlwind came their first official date, trips up I-75 to meet Alec's family, and of course making it "official". After Emily's graduation and a six month stint of long distance, commuting four hours between Cincinnati and Cleveland, Alec bit the bullet and moved to the Great White North (and even converted Emily into an Indians fan in the process). From meeting new friends to picking out their first apartment together - conveniently located above a local bar - it was only a matter of time. On February 3rd, 2019, overlooking the Cincinnati skyline, Alec took Emily's hand and got down on one knee. The couple is so excited to be back in the home of the Bearcats to tie the knot on June 20th, 2020!
