Hotel Californian

Hotel Californian is where all of the wedding day festivities will take place. Up-scale luxury with a funky yet classic vibe. If you'd like to stay at the Hotel Californian, we have a limited number of standard rooms blocked for Thursday-Sunday. To reserve a room through our block, you may call reservations (805-882-0111), email reservations (groupreservations@hotelcalifornian.com), or you may book directly on the Hotel's website using the code BLWED. Once on the Reservations page, select “Special Codes and Rates” just beneath the dates, ensure that the drop down reads “Group Code” (not “Promo Code”), enter the code BLWED and then select “Apply” . If you would like to book a larger room or a room outside of the room block, we advise you to book as soon as possible as most hotels in Santa Barbara sell out very quickly. Harbor View Inn

The Harbor View Inn is the closest hotel in proximity to the Hotel Californian. It is literally across the street. This hotel is a great stay with amazing views of the beach and downtown Santa Barbara. The Harbor View Inn is a large property with four separate buildings. Although none of the buildings are very far from the Hotel Californian, the closest options are rooms in the North Wing (City View Rooms) or Deluxe Rooms in the East Wing Building. If you'd like to book a room at The Harbor View Inn, we have a discount code for 25% off all rooms EXCEPT standard, non-view rooms. Reservations are only bookable via the hotel's website (harborviewinnsb.com). Once you've selected dates, click promo code and enter BEMISANDGABE, and then click Check Availability. To receive the discount, there is a 2 night minimum and you must book your room 30 days prior to the event. We recommend booking as early as possible because hotels in Santa Barbara sell out (or get much more expensive) quickly. Travel Note

The Funk Zone and Walking

When booking your stay, we definitely recommend staying at The Hotel Californian or the Harbor View Inn due to proximity. However, if you'd prefer to stay elsewhere, please be sure to find something in or near The Funk Zone (yes, that's a real neighborhood). Otherwise known as Lower State, The Funk Zone is where many of the wedding events will be taking place. Santa Barbara is a small coastal town so Ubers are somewhat sparse. They are available but we don't recommend relying on them to get from A to B all weekend long. Instead, we'll be walking a bunch! Everything in Santa Barbra is super walkable, so, please take that into account when deciding where you will be staying all weekend.

Flight

Fly into LAX

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is the largest major airport near Santa Barbara. Flying into LAX would require further transportation to Santa Barbara itself either by car (~90min drive), by train (Pacific Surfliner, Coast Starlight), or flight (Santa Barbara Airport). Please note, taking the train from LAX to Santa Barbara would require a good bit of planning as the train does not stop near LAX.

Fly Into Burbank Airport

Smaller than LAX, Burbank airport still offers numerous round-trip flights depending on where you are flying from. Surfliner and Starlight trains have a stop at Burbank Airport. So, if you think you're planning on taking the coastal train up to Santa Barbara rather than driving, look into flying into Burbank over LAX if possible.

Fly Directly into Santa Barbara

The smallest airport of the lot, Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) is a mere 15 min drive from The Funk Zone. If you have no urge to train or drive, check out SBA. It will likely require a connecting fight but does fly in and out of multiple major cities through multiple airlines; if you're cool with that, the proximity and convenience of this airport can't be beat.

Pacific Surfliner

The Pacific Surfliner is a pretty unique experience. You can board this train at either Burbank Airport or Union Station and enjoy the 2.5-hour rail ride as you hug the California coastline. Kick back and take in the incredible views of Cali, baby. Also, this train drops you off in Santa Barbara directly in the Funk Zone, one and a half blocks from Hotel Californian.

Coast Starlight

The Coast Starlight is pretty much the same as the Surfliner. You can board this train at either Burbank Airport or Union Station and enjoy the 2.5-hour rail ride as you hug the California coastline. Kick back and take in the incredible views of Cali, baby. Also, this train drops you off in Santa Barbara directly in the Funk Zone, one and a half blocks from Hotel Californian.
