Rethymno is a city on the island of Crete, Greece between Crete's capital, Heraklion, and the city of Chania. Rethymno is a relatively small, very walkable city boasting a beach plus delicious restaurants, cafes, and cute shops!
Crete can be reached by flight or ferry. Daily flights connect Crete with Athens and many European cities. Daily ferries mostly dock in the capital, Heraklion, and some come to Chania. Also, a ferry to Santorini operates directly out of Rethymno about once a week, usually on Tuesdays. Rethymno is ~90 minutes from Heraklion & ~75 minutes from Chania.
