One of our mutual friends invited us both to a dinner where she intended to set me up with Nate's best friend. After getting to the dining commons she introduced me to him and then in the really awkward silence that followed I remember very clearly; "Hi! Im Nate!" We officially met again at the end of that summer in RA (resident assistant) training and became good friends.

We hung out several times in groups and Nate decided to have a movie night. After the movie night in his dorm, he walked down to the common area between the dorms with me. We talked for a bit and I could tell he was nervous about something. We sat and talked some more and watched a few videos. After a bit, Nate turned to me and said, I was wondering if maybe...sometime...you'd like to get coffee? I said yes and we went out to coffee the following week on the 24th. A few days later on the 27th, he asked me to be his girlfriend.

Nate and I have monthly date nights and for September we decided on dinner and sunset at the beach. We went to olive garden and had dinner, then drove up to Warren Dunes. We went for a walk down the beach and stopped at a pretty overlook. We spent some time looking at the water and sun while talking. Nate then started talking about our future. He mentioned he got something a bit ago and pulled a ring box out of his pocket. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and I said yes!
