FAQs

The Wedding Website of Jacob Easterly and Rachel Burtch
Since this wedding is a bit different than your average wedding, we feel the need to have a place to find common answers to some of the questions that may arise about your weekend stay at Ravenwood castle. Below will be some frequently asked questions, and any other information we feel may be important. If you have any questions that are not answered below, feel free to reach out directly to the Groom or Bride. Be sure to check back regularly, as this site will be updated as neccesary.
Question

What are the costs?

Answer

There are no costs associated with attending the ceremony or staying at the castle. The rooms are covered by the Bride and Groom, as well as breakfasts each morning from 8:30 AM to 10 AM on Saturday and Sunday. Soft drinks are also included in your stay, and will be served from the pub in the castle.

Question

How does check-in work?

Answer

Guests are allowed to arrive for check-in at 3 PM on Friday. The bridal party will be at the castle entrance to greet guests. The venue requires guests to have a Visa, MasterCard, or Discover card to put on file for their room like any other hotel. This is to charge guests for alcohol purchased during their stay, as well as for protection against any damages that may occur.

Question

What is the attire?

Answer

We ask that all guests wear formal wedding attire to the ceremony and reception.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

No, there will not be an open bar, however, there will be alcohol served in the pub in the castle until 10 PM. Guests will be charged for any drinks they ordered at checkout.

Question

Can we bring food?

Answer

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own food. The cabins and cottages have mini fridges to store cold items, but a cooler is also allowed. You CANNOT, however, bring your own alcohol.

Question

Where can we get food?

Answer

There are grocery stores, restaurants, and fast food within a 20-minute drive of the castle, but you can also order food via delivery apps to the castle grounds. The pub in the castle will also sell snacks and alcohol during normal operating hours.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! We ask that all allergies and dietary restrictions be shared with the Bride and Groom during or before submitting your RSVP.

Question

Can I switch rooms/cabins?

Answer

No. A lot of work has gone into ensuring that everyone has space to accommodate each family. When the official housing assignments are released, there will be no changes. Any specific accommodation requests need to be submitted to the Bride or Groom before 8/1/25.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there is a parking lot on the castle grounds a short walk from all of the accommodations. There is a separate parking lot for the Huntsman's hallow cabins, as they are about a quarter mile away from the castle with a trail that connects the two areas.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by August 1st, 2025. If you do not RSVP by this time, we cannot guarantee accommodations for you or your family.

Question

How is the cell signal?

Answer

The signal for cell phones and other devices is spotty at best, and nonexistent at worst. We HIGHLY recommend downloading maps before making the trip in case you lose signal on the way down.

Question

Is there free Wi-Fi?

Answer

Yes, there is free Wi-Fi in the castle, however, the signal does not reach any of the cabins.

Question

Are pets allowed?

Answer

From the Ravenwood website: "While we are pet people ourselves, we are unable to host pets in our guest rooms." No pets allowed.

Question

Is smoking allowed?

Answer

From the Ravenwood website: "Please note that under Ohio law, our inn is completely non-smoking inside. Smoking is permitted outside in designated areas only."

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

There is a limited number of accommodations, and the venue has a maximum occupancy limit of 50 people total. This means that we have to be very particular about who is coming. If you received an invitation that states that you are allowed a +1, then you can bring a date. Anyone already in a relationship or with a partner will receive an invitation naming all welcome parties.

Question

I still have questions...

Answer

Please reach out directly to the Bride or Groom, and we will do our best to answer your question(s).
