Maid of Honor
Jordan and Kaleigh met when Kaleigh needed to find a fabulous replacement for her role as marketing director back in Denver. Her shoes were not easy to fill so she hired Jordan a whole month and a half before she was due to depart for California. They spent hours together every day, driving all over Denver. They quickly became fast friends when Kaleigh stumbled upon a Celine Dion CD in Jordan's car and the two belted the songs at the top of their lungs. Distance has never been strong enough to pull the two apart and they have traveled all over the world together. Kaleigh couldn't even think of getting married without Jordan there by her side.
Best Man
Tom and Kevin met through work and quickly became good friends after they started carpooling together for over an hour each way every day. Bonding over our mutual commiseration of work and our similar interests and backgrounds, hanging out became a regular occurrence. We enjoy our Yerba Mates, and our fine Whiskey, while constantly ranting about work. We may always be in fierce competition with one another, but there's a deep bond that keeps us going strong.
Bridesmaid
Bridesmaid and sister of the bride, Hillie brings a grounded-ness to Kaleigh the way that Kaleigh brings silliness to Hillie. They, without a doubt, have a special bond that can only be formed through spending the entirety of their lives together, growing up in the same household, knowing exactly what tone mom took when you could get away with something and when you'd better drop what you were doing quickly. Kaleigh has stressed Hillie out with her midnight excursions, entrusting her to be the secret keeper and protector. Kaleigh has been her advocate since she could argue, even if they did often times argue together. Though Hillie will undoubtedly roll her eyes and groan at the girly/goofy things she will have to endure, Kaleigh is honored to have her by her side.
Groomsman
Galen and Kevin met at work, while Galen was starting his career in IT and as the new intern. He learned quickly and proved himself to be a good study, and a better dude. We became friends as we worked together and hung out drinking at the local watering hole, Swank. Talking often about their relationships and other introspective topics, it was clear that a solid bond was forming.
Bridesmaid
Kaitlyn and Kaleigh met and bonded through Kaitlyn's then boyfriend. The friendship/relationship with the boyfriend was not to last, but through him they had found an enduring friendship. They have traveled together, indulged in their mutual interest for makeup and femininity, and crossed Belegarth blades. Kaitlyn is the perfect mixture of fairytale mermaid and warrior princess and Kaleigh loves that she's down for just about any adventure -- whether it be going to the mall specifically to sit in brookstone massage chairs for an hour shamelessly or adventuring to Las Vegas to watch the Backstreet Boys in concert. Kaleigh feels so privileged to have a friend like Kaitlyn in her life and even more so to be close enough to have her as her bridesmaid.
Groomsman
Kevin and Kevin met through Airsoft, and became fast friends, getting together nearly every weekend to drive to Gamepod to shoot people with plastic BBs. He was a great motivator to better myself and was a driving force in helping me get in shape and train for Spartan Races and long weekends of airsoft camping in the woods. He's since joined the Marines but we still keep in touch and hang out every time we're in the same state. He's a good friend and a great man.
Bridesmaid
Kaleigh and Jessica met on OKCupid just after Kaleigh returned home from Europe. She decided to go exclusive with her then boyfriend and when she let Jessica know this and that she would only be looking for a friendship, she thought for sure she would never meet her in person. To Kaleigh's surprise, she did and after an awkward first friend date, the two were friends. It was a turbulent time in both of their lives, but their friendship held them together. Jessica became Kaleigh's first roommate in her new house, and she could not have survive the year without her. When Jessica -- the flighty nomad -- was ready to leave, Kaleigh simply asked her to say and she said yes. The two have grown so much separate and together and Kaleigh couldn't imagine her day without Jessica there with her.
Groomsman
I met Alvin my first day at my current job, he was my only direct coworker, and we became good friends working in the crazy trenches that at the time was really put the "fire" in SF Fire Credit Union". We worked 60+ hour weeks, nights, weekends and on call together. He has the most chipper attitude and is one of the most respectful and thoughtful people you could ever meet. We have complimentary strengths that led to us driving progress and advancing our careers together at the CU. His taste in fashion is unmatched, as well as his collection of collectible shoes.
Mother of the Bride
My mom is too special for me to write in the impersonal third person. She is the one woman band that was able to raise my sister and I to be the people we are proud to be today. With an even mix of respect, silliness, guidance, faith, independence, and adventure, she let us grow up with the freedom to ask why, the respect to allow for persuasion, the trust to let me wander, and the love we never doubted. No matter how far across the world I go, I can never stray for too long. When people in my life felt obligated to call their mothers, I volunteered eagerly. She is classy and yet not afraid to try anything. I can't wait to have her walk me down the aisle and dance like a crazy Californian during the reception ;) She was my first partner in crime and STILL the answer to "Who is your hero?"
Mother of the Groom
My mom has always played a huge role in my life. She's the most caring and generous person that I know, and is always there when you need her. She's supported me through many lows, and been great cheerleader of my accomplishments. She has been a great mother, and a truly inspiring person. I am so grateful for her and all the life lessons she has taught me. She has been instrumental in my success, and helped me kick start my life with Kaleigh. I couldn't ask for a better more caring mother.
Father of the Bride and Stepmother of the Bride
My dad and his wife Charli have been a pivotal part of my life. They took me and my boyfriend in after I graduated college to let us not only land on two feet while we were introduced to the working world in Denver, but gave me space to get to know them and my baby brother as my family. From the very first time my sister and I met Charli, she was supportive and kind. She complements my crazy dad so well. Getting to know my dad again in the past few years has been so much fun. He has been a keystone of advice that I’ve taken to heart and someone I can always count on for a ridiculous joke. He is one of the most giving people I know, opening his home to strangers in need just because they're my friends. Dad&Charli are the kindest people and I am honored to have them be a part of my wedding.
Father and Step Mother of Groom
My dad has supported me a lot through the years, my many hobbies, sports and activities. He's taught me to fish, shoot a bow and a rifle, how to make eye contact and shake hands, and most importantly to be respectful. He took me to all of my sports games and practices and helped me excel at my passions. And I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be in a successful career with computers without him as a role model. Lynn and I have really connected over the years, especially in my adulthood. She's well traveled, cultured and a very interesting person to talk to. Her and Kaleigh also hit it off immediately, having conversations about their international adventures and speaking in french. It's always great when your significant other and family get along!
