If you want to scare the bride and groom by lifting them onto chairs and dancing around, the hora might be for you! The Hora is a traditional Jewish dance that starts with the dance party circling up and culminates in the bride and groom being lifted onto chairs. It is a very simple dance (sort of like a circled up line dance) that will be done to the Nagila Hava song. We are both ethical vegetarians, which means we are for all intents and purposes vegan. This means that we cannot put our money into supplying any non-vegan options at our wedding. But we are both very food-oriented people as well, and we made sure to find the most delicious cakes, the most familiar foods -- we gave the caterers our own recipes and product preferences. Come be adventurous for one evening, and if all else fails, we have an open bar ;)
Kevin and I decided to have a waste-free wedding. This means that all of the products at the wedding are either second-hand, rented, or will be re-purposed after the wedding. From the plantable invitations to kegs of beer instead of bottles and cans, we are doing everything we can to leave as small of a footprint for our party. It also means that all of your drinks and food will be served on real plates and in real cups. Every one will have a dedicated cup for alcohol and a dedicated cup for water. Please be responsible for your glass as there will not be a spare if you lose it! There will be a few on site for accidents that involve broken cups. If you would like to participate in making this a waste-free wedding, we welcome any gifts to be wrapped in reusable materials, recyclable paper, or just creatively set in a basket instead of wrapped in foil.
PDX, Portland international airport is the closest to the venue. Depending on which hotel you stay at, you are either 12 or 13 miles from the airport. The hotels are very close to each other, and both hotels are very close to the wedding venue, only 4 or 5 miles away.
