Art Thursday is an event in Christiansted that takes place one Thursday evening of every month from November-May. It involves art galleries, jewelry studios and fine retail stores that all stay open late for a relaxing evening on the town. The variety of art shown spans from paintings in oil, watercolor and acrylic, to jewelry, photography, sculpture, fine carpentry, fabric arts and furniture. Stroll the charming streets of Christiansted and enjoy light refreshments provided by the gallery owners while enjoying the art on display and for sale. Bring home a slice of St. Croix with an original work, a token to remind you of the island. Date/Time: 3rd Thursday of each month from November - May, 5pm until 8pm. Ladies and gentlemen, start your…hermit crabs? That’s right, here on St. Croix one of the most well attended sporting events on island is the weekly crab races. Held at multiple resort, bar and restaurant locations across the island, these ‘high-stakes’ racing events are fun for the whole family. You can pick a crab and participate, or just watch the fun, either way the crab races are always a delightful (and budget friendly) pastime.

The Mahogany road on St. Croix twists and turns its way through the island's rainforest. On this route you will find the St. Croix Leap where artists and craftsman create works of art and functional woodworking out of Mahogany wood. You will also pass the Montpellier Domino Club, home of the famous beer drinking pigs!
Surprisingly, one of our most popular attractions are the beer drinking pigs at the Mt. Pellier Hut Domino Club. Yes, you read correctly! If you stop at the Domino Club, not only can you get yourself a cold beer, but you can buy a round for the resident pigs (non-alcoholic, of course). Also make sure to try the owner, Norma's famous mama-wanna which is a famous rum jungle hooch. If you are hungry her fried chicken and johnny cakes are delicious. Make sure to try her hotsauce, but only a little bit!

Point Udall is at the east end of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands is the easternmost point of the United States including territories and insular areas. take the very scenic drive all the way up to Point Udall at the far East End of the island. Point Udall offers stunning panoramic sea views. Home to the Millennium Monument, this tranquil point is must on any St. Croix 'to do' list. As you drive the winding road that leads to Point Udall, you will see that the arid climate on the East End of St. Croix hosts a variety of cactus and desert-like foliage in stark contrast to the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. You can look up towards the south and see Goat Hill rising above the road, and you can look out across the Caribbean Sea to Buck Island to the north. Of course, one of the most popular times to visit Point Udall is at sunrise. If you do go first thing in the morning, you can also hike up to the top of Goat Hill for an amazing view of St. Croix.
Palm-shaded and protected, Mermaid Beach is The Buccaneer's main beach, and features The Mermaid Restaurant and a water-sports center. The Mermaid beach offers a variety of beach sports, including basketball, volleyball, Frisbee golf, corn hole, ping pong and more. This is a nice beach to spend awhile and have lunch as well. Toward the end of the day, don't miss sunset cocktails at the mahogany wood bar at the Buccaneer hotel and restaurant.
If you are feeling adventurous kayak or paddleboard out to Green Cay and you will usually have the island all to yourself. After your paddle grab a drink at the bar and relax on the beach taking in views of Buck Island National Park. At the easternmost point of Buck Island Reef National Monument is a famous underwater trail; novice and expert snorkelers will enjoy the passages. The 176-acre island and surrounding coral reef ecosystem support a large variety of native flora and fauna, including several endangered and threatened species such as hawksbill turtles and brown pelicans. The elkhorn coral barrier reef that surrounds two-thirds of the island has extraordinary coral formations, deep grottoes, abundant reef fishes, sea fans, and gorgonians. The island has an overland nature trail and white coral sand beaches. Visitors can take daily trips to the park for a half or full day. Once there they can enjoy a leisurely swim in the crystal clear waters, or snorkeling. Visitors can also SCUBA dive through the fantastic reef to witness tropical marine life, or hike over the island enjoying native flora and fauna while getting a birds-eye view of the reef and sea below.
Cane Bay Beach is a popular hang out for locals and visitors alike. It is also a popular place for families to hang out with their kids, and dogs, because it’s a one stop beach that has everything. With access to several bars and restaurants right from the beach, it makes for an easy and enjoyable beach day. There is plenty to do to keep you occupied. Bask in the Caribbean sun, play volleyball, or take a dip in the clear warm water. Scuba diving and snorkeling are popular pastimes here, as Cane Bay offers easy access from the shore. Dive the world famous Cane Bay Wall on St. Croix, one of the best dive sites in the Caribbean it features a coral reef wall teeming with marine life.
The St. George Village Botanical Garden is a botanical garden with an arboretum. It is open daily and an admission fee is charged. The garden is set in and around the restored buildings and ruins of a 19th-century Danish sugarcane plantation. It contains over 1500 native and exotic species and varieties, including bromeliads, cactus and succulents, a conservation garden, a dry palmetum, heritage gardens, orchids, ornamental ferns, native arboretum (about 50 species), naturalized forest, rainforest (irrigated), and sansevieria collection.
Shoys Beach is on the East End of St. Croix, conveniently located just a few miles outside of Christiansted. Quiet and secluded, Shoys Beach is a picturesque stretch of white sand overlooking the Caribbean waters and makes for a great getaway. Parts of the beach are a little rocky, but there are plenty of sandy areas as well. The waters are calm for most of the year and the bottom is generally sandy and grassy which makes for great swimming conditions. Shoys Beach is frequented by locals, part-time residents, regular visitors, and vacationers alike. There are no amenities at this beach, there is however plenty of shade from the seagrape trees and other foliage that lines the beach.
