The Farnsworth Art Museum offers a nationally recognized collection of works from many of America’s greatest artists, particularly Andrew Wyeth. An amazing activity, rain or shine, located under 10 minutes from the Samoset in downtown Rockland.
This lighthouse is conveniently on property at the Samoset, but it's a good 1-mile walk out to reach the lighthouse! Tour the inside of the lighthouse and take in the views of the Samoset from the water.
Camden is a quintessential, Maine town just 15 minutes from the Samoset! There are so many amazing things to do there and one could wander for hours around this waterfront community. Just a few of our favorite things we've tried there: -Seadog Brewing -Book a sail out of Camden Harbor; various sailboat and schooner companies offer ticketed rides -Browse the countless art galleries featuring local artists -Grab a drink on a rooftop bar, we recommend 16 Bay View Hotel or Salt Wharf -Go for a morning walk and coffee! There are countless, cute coffee shops to try
You can't leave Maine without a classic lobster roll! You can probably find one just about anywhere but we recommend that you make sure you do :) There are a lot of awesome spots to stop on your drive up to Rockland, including Reds Eats and Sprague Lobster in Wiscasset. If you're traveling in and out of Portland, Lukes Lobster, Gilbert's Chowder House and High Roller are a few great options!
