Our First Port
We arrived in San Juan after 12 hours of traveling on March 5th, two days before sailing, so we could enjoy and rest in Amazing San Juan a place filled with rich culture, history, music, and food. Our favorite place....Old San Juan and the Old Forts.
Out at Sea
We love cruising......we received lots of attention and upgrades and discounts from an Oceanview room to a Veranda room, an intimate dinner at the Chef's table, couples massage, open bar, 50% off of our cruise and one future cruise, and 2 extra days at sea!!!
Second Port
We had our first excursion with about 24 people on the cruise ship. We visited Rhianna's home, the beautiful beaches, and a rum distillery where most everyone got buzzed and the rest of ride became a party bus with a battle between the Canadians and Americans. It was a blast!!
Third Port
We visited the beautiful botanical gardens, the black sand beaches, and Dominica's Emerald Pool with a small waterfall in a serene rainforest. Breathtaking!!!
Fourth Port
We ventured on our own to a beautiful private beach in Antiqua for a relaxing day swimming and sunning.
Fifth port
We traveled up to Timothy Point to see how the island divided the Atlantic and Caribbean waters before venturing to a private beach with another couple we met on the cruise ship for more sunning and swimming with Pina Coladas & Rum Punch.
Final Port
We enjoyed a private food tour through old down town eating & drinking at the local eateries. We then went to Honeymoon Beach of course for more swimming and sunning.
Out to Sea AGAIN
With two extra days at sea and an open bar, Jeff and I decided to try out all the drinks we never had before....first stop martinis.
HOLY AIRPORT CRAZINESS
What a surreal experience coming from a cruise on our honeymoon to packed airports and empty grocery stores. It was strange to come from abundance to facing scarcity and panic just hours after we landed back home. I'm grateful that we were able to make it home as we learned there were a dozen cruise ships unable to port, still sailing at sea. The quarantine has given Jeff and I an extra time to be together during these scary times. It has helped to remind us of the blessings of love and gift of time.
