Officiant
Doug and Jason met at the run club (the same one that Kristin and Doug met at). Jason ALSO met Kristin a few months before Doug met her! Doug and Jason became close friends, as loyal disappointed Mets fans.. actually we’ll let him tell you the rest at the ceremony!
Best Man
Stu is Doug’s best man. The two have know each other for most of their lives since meeting in elementary school. Stu lived through the woods behind Doug’s house, so they would easily visit each other to play video games, football, and other activities. It’s only fitting that they still live a few miles apart, and got married within a year of each other.. surprisingly to different people. When Doug left the Army, Stu welcomed him on his couch in Chicago until he found his first software engineering job. As a thank you, Doug left Chicago shortly after, but Stu soon followed him to California where they currently live a few miles apart. Stu has always been there for Doug and is the best friend anyone could hope for. This tiny box can’t even begin to express the amazing friendship these two have.
Maid of Honor
Sonia and Kristin met at the University of Colorado and have been friends since 2007. Despite being in separate sororities in college Sonia and Kristin ended up being roommates for several years and have been besties ever since. Sonia likes to travel and is often found bouncing between SF and NYC as well as more exotic locations in Europe. Besides traveling, Sonia enjoys taking care of her INSTA famous bunny, Malibu. Contrary to popular belief, Malibu is not named after your favorite rum.
Groomsman
Rick is Doug’s longest friend, having met in Mr Gettle’s 4th grade class. They continued their friendship over video games, paintball, playing on the football team (Rick was much more successful), and as captains of the track team. Doug’s successful run for student body president was attributed to Rick’s genius campaign, full of hilarious posters and ahead of its time social media marketing.. on AOL instant messenger of course. Now that Rick bought an Oculus, Doug is hoping multiplayer VR gaming will be their new thing. Fun Fact: this picture was taken at Rick's wedding a week or so after Kristin and Doug had their first date! By the way, Rick and his wife Evin have recently opened a veterinary office in Summit, NJ.. check it out if you have a pet!
Bridesmaid
Kim is Doug's little sister and one of Kristin's bridesmaids. Kim just finished her first marathon earlier this year in NYC and Doug and Kristin ran around the city trying to catch her. Kim likes to travel and hang with her friends and her boyfriend Jeff. She also can't wait for their new Cavapoo, who she will hopefully not be allergic to. When Doug and Kim were young, they fought, as young siblings do. At a few days old, Kimi poked Doug in the eye while he was trying to give her a hug, so we could say "she started it." Though they're on opposite sides of the country, Doug loves that they've been able to grow closer together through awesome adventures in California, Utah, and wherever else in the future. Most importantly, he loves that she's been a close and caring future sister in law to Kristin!
Groomsman
Steve and Doug met in the fifth grade. They were NOT friends. One time they were paired on a book report, and Steve “selfishly” outed Doug for not reading the book. Somehow over the next few years, they would grow to be close friends. So close that they invented a super hero with a combination of their strengths and none of their weaknesses: STOUG! Doug and Steve have teamed up on many ventures and currently own a (very dormant) social fitness app company called wipfit.
Bridesmaid
Liz is Kristin's Sister in law and is married to her brother Jeff. Liz and Jeff have been together for over 20 years. Liz enjoys cuddling with her dog. Ruby, who Jeff often thinks she likes more than him. Liz enjoys picking out fashionable outfits, interior decorating and long yard remodel projects. Liz likes traveling and spending time with her family, including her niece and nephews who live in the bay area.
Groomsman
Jeff is Kristin’s older brother and Doug’s groomsman. Jeff resides in Half Moon Bay with his wife Liz (Kristin’s bridesmaid) and their dog Ruby. Doug has enjoyed getting to know and trying to impress Kristin’s older brother through talking about sports and learning from Jeff’s vast knowledge of history.
Bridesmaid
Julia and Kristin first met playing soccer in San Francisco. She is originally from Oregon, but came to CA for school and she never left. She enjoys traveling to France often and enjoying a fine wine. Julia's drink of choice is a Grey Hound, but with Titos and she is always up on the restaurant scene in San Francisco.
Groomsman
Freshman year in the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets, Ben and Doug made up some nonsense to weasel their way into rooming together. Fortunately they were pretty good Cadets (ha!) and more importantly, took hazing like a champ, so their request was approved. Over the years they continued to do things they’re only capable of doing together, like sneaking backstage at a Dropkick Murphy’s concert, consistently oversleeping but somehow being accepted into the elite Cadet Ranger Company, and escaping the Mexican cartel by pretending to speak Spanish. People frequently mix up the names “Mead” and “Huff” and Doug’s proud to be mistaken for such an awesome dude.
Groomsman
Will, Bloomy, Blumpy, and many names that I can’t put in public nowadays have been used to reference the guy that’s still friends with Doug, despite him bringing MRSA into their dorm. Having grown up in Blacksburg, Will is the most passionate and knowledgeable Hokie fan Doug knows. It’s that loyalty and excitement that also makes him an incredible friend. From the days pulling security on fake enemies on their way back from Hokie House, to doing laps around neighborhoods of Syracuse singing Hokie songs, to staying up all night talking about football on zoom during the pandemic.. their friendship has grown, but not matured. If you see him, ask for the SGM Ferrone story.
