🌼 Garden Party Formal (wedding) – Think light colors and dainty floral prints, suits or jackets, and flowy, mid- or ankle-length formal dresses. Please do not wear white (unless you are wearing a Habesha kemis) or denim. Need inspiration? Here's a whole Pinterest board (hint — you need to copy+paste this link into your browser): https://pin.it/3Blc21d 🪐 Elevated Casual (welcome party) – Get a little spiffed up, would ya? Florals encouraged! Dressy jeans, "going out tops," and short-sleeved button-ups are all fair game. Jackets not required. Save the suit for the wedding!
We love your kids, but the wedding ceremony and reception are adults-only (and so is the playlist 👀). Kids can attend the start of the Welcome Party on Saturday night, but the venue is 21+ after 8 p.m. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about this – we'd love to brainstorm a way for our out-of-town parents to enjoy the weekend.
We set up a courtesy room block at the Conrad. You are of course welcome to stay elsewhere, but we do recommend staying in Downtown DC! See the Travel tab for more information.
If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes. We're trying to keep things intimate, ya know?
We know, we know… life would be a whole lot easier if this didn’t need to be an FAQ. We want to celebrate our big day safely. First things first – if you are sick, please STAY HOME. We promise we'll send you our wedding video if you have to miss it. Our ceremony will be outdoors in a grove, and dinner will be in an open-air tent with all sides open to the outdoors (weather permitting). Due to noise restrictions, dancing is only allowed indoors. We plan to use HEPA air filters in the indoor spaces, and while not required, you are welcome to wear a mask. Please reach out if you have more specific questions. The Welcome Party will be fully outdoors on a spacious, covered deck.
Not for now! We’re still Dominique Gebru and Geoff Gilbert for the foreseeable future. :)
