We are getting married!

We met initially on the dating app Bumble in October 2020. Alex messaged Zack inquiring about this "monopoly beauty pageant" he won. They messaged a few times, but then Zack got "distracted" and forgot to message poor Alex back. They continued to explore the dating scene of Durham and once again matched in November 2020 on another dating app, Hinge. This time Alex must have been more interesting, as Zack was interested in actually answering her messages. They went on their first date on December 11th, 2020 at a beer garden Namu. Unfortunately for Zack, Alex couldn't drink as she was working night shift, in solidarity he also only had water. After that, the rest is history!

Zack and Alex began officially dating in February 2021 and quickly fell in love, even if it took them both a long time to say it (to each other)! They got their first furbaby Ziggy in March 2021 and spent a lot of time together raising him to be the sweet good boy that he is today. In June 2022, Alex and Zack moved from Durham NC to Greenville NC. The move was prompted by Alex getting her first attending job at ECU out of residency. They have spent the last 1.5 years making their new house a home and doing a lot of outdoor work. Zack especially enjoyed building 3 large vegetable beds! They adopted their 2nd furbaby Zeus in October 2022 and have enjoyed having 2 furchildren in the home! While in Greenville Zack has taken a position as pharmacy manager at the busiest Walgreens in the area. Alex spends her days sleeping and her nights working in the ER as a nocturnist. Their schedules are busy and often opposite, but they manage to find time to spend together and with their furbabies Ziggy and Zeus!

On Friday October 13th Zack decided it was time to pop the question after months of Alex bugging him about it! They had a weekend planned to go away to a Virginia Tech game. They arrived to Radford, VA (where Zack went to college) and walked around the campus. Zack reminisced about the good old days causing mischief on campus and showed Alex all the cool spots. They then went to dinner on the rooftop restaurant of their hotel. While at dinner, Zack had the waitress bring out a special customized bottle of champagne that he personalized made for Alex and a card. After receiving these thoughtful gifts, Zack got down on one knee and asked Alex to marry him! They then enjoyed the weekend in Virginia as a newly engaged couple! **And Zack was especially happy with VT getting a W**
