Question

Is there parking available for the events?

Answer

At the Barn, there is more than enough parking for guests who want to drive themselves. For our Friday and Sunday events, if you are not staying at Sterling Ridge Resort, there is parking available for you. If you are staying at Sterling Ridge Resort, our Friday and Sunday events will both be located outside of the Mansfield House. We highly recommend that you walk from your cabin to the Mansfield House so that there is plenty of room for off-site guests to park.

Are kids or significant others welcome?

Answer

If your kids, significant others, or other family members are coming to VT with you, we would love to have them join for the Friday Night Welcome Event or Sunday Brunch! Please indicate this on your online RSVP form or let the couple know by email so we can coordinate with our vendors. Due to fire code and maximum capacity, only guests named on the invitation will be allowed to attend the ceremony and reception at the Barn at Smuggler's Notch on Saturday.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at the Barn at Smuggler's Notch at 3:45pm so that we can begin the ceremony promptly at 4pm.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The Friday night Welcome Event and Sunday brunch are come as you are! We ask that our guests dress in cocktail attire for the wedding ceremony and reception on Saturday. This could include slacks and a button down or tie-optional suits as well as dresses and skirts of any length or jumpsuits. We're aiming for a dress code more formal than jeans and less formal than black tie :)

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

There is a space to do so on your online RSVP form! Please reach out directly to the couple if you have any additional concerns on this front, as we want everyone to enjoy all of the delicious food that will be offered throughout the weekend.

Is the wedding indoor or outdoor (and footwear recommendations)?

Answer

Both the Friday night and Sunday events are outdoors! While a tent is provided, much of these events will be on grass, so sneakers, men's dress shoes, sandals, or wedges are highly recommended! The ceremony on Saturday will be outside on grass. There is also a beautiful open lawn behind the Barn that looks out towards Mount Mansfield. We anticipate and hope that our guests will take advantage of this outdoor space! The reception will be inside the Barn. Due to the outdoor nature of the ceremony and location itself, men's dress shoes, sandals, or wedges are highly recommended!

I hear Vermont has had some bad rain and road closures. Will we still be able to access our hotels and the venue?

Answer

Thankfully, yes!! The weather has cleared up and while there are a few road closures, the hotel and our venue are still accessible. If you have concerns about your route, you can plug in your route and see closures here: https://newengland511.org/

Can I bring my dog to the Friday night and Sunday morning events?

Answer

We love your pets and are so happy they get to spend the weekend with you! The Friday night and Sunday morning events are humans-only, please!
