Why Eagles Mere?
Answer
We chose to get married here because Eagles Mere is very special to us. Danny has spent his entire life enjoying this small mountain lake town every summer. It is a natural volcanic lake with a history that goes back to its days as a glass factory town in the late 1800s. More recently, Diana has fallen in love with it too, enjoying it as a beautiful, safe oasis during these difficult COVID times. It is also the perfect location for this event, as it has been relatively untouched by the pandemic and it is very easy to stay isolated from others while still having a ridiculous amount of fun.

What should I expect weather-wise?
Answer
Eagles Mere is at the top of a mountain. The temperature is generally colder than you think it's going to be. The average temperature in June is a high of 73 and a low of 55, with an average of 11 days of rain. (In late June, however, we can probably expect high 70s, low 80s as a high) Come prepared for gorgeous, clear skies but also bring some good clothes for chilly and rainy weather.

What's the deal with groceries?
Answer
The closest grocery store is 45 minutes away. We highly suggest that you stock up on what you need before heading up the mountain. Weis Market is located at 1272 E Penn St, Muncy, PA 17756. There is a liquor store next door, as well as a hardware store and a few other places. There is also a great farm market about halfway from Muncy to Eagles Mere. You'll see it on the side of the road, it's called "Dinchers Roadside" - 9657 US-220, Hughesville, PA 17737 We highly recommend checking it out but keep in mind they are closed on Mondays.

What kinds of conveniences are available in Eagles Mere?

This little town has a few places to get a meal: The Sweet Shop is your place to get a nice hot breakfast or a cup of coffee, a delicious sandwich for lunch or dinner, and awesome ice cream. The EM Country Store is a deli with other conveniences such as a few groceries and other random necessities There are a few stores that carry knick knacks and gifts as well as a farm stand for some fresh veggies. There is a gas station at the "bottom of the mountain" (a 15 minute drive) as well as a beer and wine store a little bit further towards La Porte (about 20 minute drive)

What about WiFi?
Answer
The houses in Eagles Mere all have WiFi. The town is not super WiFi accessible though so you may not get a signal once you leave the house. Prepare accordingly.
