Devon and Paul first met for coffee at the Starbucks on 54th and Broadway in New York City after matching on the dating app, Hinge. Paul's opening line to Devon on the app was, "You look like a girl my mother would love." Paul was 20 minutes early for the coffee date and asked Devon's favorite Starbucks drink which he had ready and waiting for her at a table in the corner. Devon was very impressed to say the least. The rest is history!

The summer of 2022, Devon was performing in a few shows in Sacramento, California and Paul had planned to fly from New York to see one of them and spend the day off in Napa with her and her mom. Little did she know, Paul was planning his big proposal for that very trip. Devon's brother and sister ended up surprising Devon at her show that weekend with her mom and all five of them (including Paul) drove to Napa together on that Sunday night. The next day, they all went to a beautiful winery called Pine Ridge Vineyards for a wine tasting. Devon's mom acted like she had planned the whole thing, but after the tasting, they all went outside and Paul proposed to Devon under the gazebo. She said "YES" and a photographer popped out from the bushes and they did a beautiful photoshoot, thanks to the advice from Devon's bestie, Alyssa Deboo. Paul told Devon that he wanted to give her family this big moment on the West Coast because they got to spend a lot of time with his family on the East Coast and he knows how much Devon loves California.
