We booked a room block through the travel agent, Modern Travelworks. You (or your significant other) should have received an email from team@modern.travel with your login instructions for the Modernly website (check your junk email if you didn't see it). You can also reach them by phone at (832) 369-2828 x. 229. You can request a quote and book through them. Final payment is due 1/11/2023 and any unpaid inventory will be released from the room block that day. You will still be able to book through them after that if you wish, subject to resort availability. Please note, it may take 7-10 business days for them to confirm availability with the resort. You can also book through Expedia or directly through the resort.
All regular and Preferred suites have soaking tubs on the balconies, except for the Preferred Swim Out rooms which have steps from the patio into a small semi-private pool instead. If you’re staying in a Preferred room, you have access to the Preferred Club lounge (located in the same building as the main lobby) as well as designated areas throughout the resort, such as the Preferred pool. The Preferred bars are the only ones that serve Tito’s and some other top shelf alcohol. The Preferred suites have upgraded mini bars, and they are also larger - they start at 527 sq ft whereas the regular suites are all 490 sq ft. The regular suites are all in the buildings at the back of the resort, closest to most of the restaurants but furthest from the beach (the buildings numbered 10 on the resort map link on the "Travel" page), and the Preferred rooms are closer to the beach (the buildings numbered 12 on the resort map link on the "Travel" page).
The closest airport is Liberia International Airport (LIR) (also known as Daniel Oduber International Airport). It is about 90 minutes away from the resort.
If you booked through the travel agent, Modern Travelworks, the transfer is already included and they willl arrange scheduling for you. If you booked somewhere else that doesn’t include a transfer, you can schedule one on your own through Amstar or through Jacamar Tours. You can find the links on the "Travel" page.

Yes, of course! Please let us know of any allergies/dietary restrictions and we will make sure the venue is aware.
Do not be scared if you look at the weather app and see rain every day! It is the rainforest so it does rain frequently, but from our experience it is similar to other tropical destinations where it often only rains for a limited amount of time, sometimes overnight or early in the morning, and then clears up leaving the rest of the day with clear skies. Costa Rica only has 2 seasons - the dry season (mid-November through April) and the rainy season (May through mid-November). Since May is the beginning of the rainy season, the weather can be unpredictable, but Guanacaste is located on the northwest Pacific side, which is the driest area in the country, so we are hoping that it cooperates! Expect it to be hot and humid, average daytime temperatures are in the 80's. PLEASE NOTE: The UV index can reach above 10 in Costa Rica so burning can happen within minutes. Please plan to apply sunscreen frequently. For those with sensitive skin consider bringing a hat or other protective clothing.
All rooms are non-smoking. There are 3 designated smoking areas - outside of the main building, outside of the main lobby, and at the beach. Vapes are recommended for those who would like to be able to smoke in more areas, such as by the pool.
