Question

What is the plan for COVID-19?

Answer

Our first priority is the health and safety of our guests and loved ones. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will comply with all DC and CDC health regulations. Pursuant to DC rules, masks are required indoors when not eating or drinking. The vast majority of our guests are vaccinated, and we also request testing 72 hours before the event as an extra precaution. We appreciate your understanding as we navigate this crazy time! Please be on the look out for an email with more specifics about COVID precautions in the coming days.

Question

Is the wedding adults only?

Answer

Due to the historic nature of our venue, and its many breakable objects, we cannot have children as guest at the reception. We thank you for your understanding. We can help coordinate a babysitter for anyone that needs it. White House Nannies is a baby sitting service that will come to hotel rooms.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony and reception?

Answer

As there is no scheduled transportation, please plan to cab/Uber/Lyft/walk. We conveniently choose hotels that are close to the reception venue, so we recommend you walk there! For the chapel, we recommend arriving at Georgetown's front gate (37th and O St). The chapel is directly behind Healy Hall (the big gothic building). From the gates, head in the direction of Healy Hall and go down the street to the right of it. Follow the path until it curves to the left and goes through a brick tunnel. Immediately turn left to arrive at the chapel. If the doors are open, you can head straight through Healy Hall. If you go down the hill to the left of Healy Hall, continue down, and then turn right at the Old N Way street sign. The chapel will be on the right. Guests may park on campus in the lot below the Southwest Quadrangle via Canal Road for $5/hour. There is also limited street parking nearby. Here is a map of the campus for reference: https://maps.georgetown.edu/

Question

What should we do between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

We apologize for our Catholic gap! We had limited options in scheduling our ceremony when postponing our wedding. Luckily, there is a ton to do in the area! Get a drink on the second floor patio at El Centro or head to the Georgetown waterfront. There is also time to stop at the Lincoln Memorial and take some pictures on the National Mall. See Things to Do for more suggestions!

Question

Will the wedding festivities be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The nuptial Mass will be indoors. Cocktail hour will be indoors, with an option to stay outdoors for those that prefer. Dinner will be outdoors.
