Duration: 2 Hours The Bison Expedition travels along a combination of dirt & paved scenic, windy roads. Watch for bison, foxes and eagles on this extreme off-road adventure. Bring your camera for spectacular photos. Catalina’s American bison, sometimes referred to as buffalo, are descendants of a small herd left on the island by a movie crew in the 1920s. Today the Catalina Island Conservancy maintains Catalina's American bison herd at about 150 to protect both the bison and the island’s landscape.
Duration: 45 min Step back in time on this 45-minute narrated walking tour of Catalina’s most well-known landmark. You’ll marvel at the soaring hand-painted murals that grace the entry way of this architectural masterpiece. Created by John Gabriel Beckman, whose work also adorns Hollywood’s Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, the Casino’s murals depict the history of Catalina’s cultural evolution.
Daily guided kayak excursions are available for as few as two persons, and most trips also have private rates for solo adventurers Most of their guided kayak tours are suitable for first-time kayakers. If you’ve never paddled before, your guide will teach you – it’s easy. Experienced paddlers will also enjoy the trips using more advanced gear. Children 11 yrs. and younger receive a 25% discount, while the youngest (our staff & friends take their babies) are not charged. All taxes are included. Two persons are all they need to book one of our daily kayak tours. All trips highlight the island’s natural history. All necessary equipment is provided. If you don’t have your own water sandals, they do. Windbreaker jackets are sent on every trip. Dry bags are provided for your own towels. Some trips include snorkeling, and they provide shorty wetsuits in summer and full length suits when the water is cooler.

Catalina Island’s Golf Gardens has been a much-loved island fixture for more than 40 years, and is an ideal spot for an afternoon of family fun. Nestled among shade trees less than one block from the beach,its award-winning par-51 layout is known in mini-golf circles as one of the most beautiful and challenging in the world. Golf Gardens main entrance is located on Sumner Avenue just past the Tour Plaza and across the street from the City Library. It’s open every day, year-round, weather permitting. Tickets may be purchased at any Catalina Island Company ticket booth or at the main entrance.

The Wrigley Memorial & Botanic Garden is a thirty-minute stroll up Avalon Canyon from town center. Or, take a quick ride by golf cart or bike, or by Garibalidi City Bus. The Botanic Garden is the primary gateway to access one of the Island's most popular hikes, the Garden to Sky Trail (Please note hiking is not permitted after dark).
