Dani and Dominic were first introduced virtually through their senior year college roommates in August of 2019. Being 2000 miles apart, Dani at the University of Arizona and Dominic at the Naval Academy, the first few months were spent talking over the phone (thank you FaceTime). In October 2019, they finally got to meet in person at the UofA parents’ weekend. Nerves were high as Dominic met Dani and instantly also met her parents 5 seconds later. Hitting it off that weekend Dominic decided to fly back to Arizona two weekends later and asked Dani to be his girlfriend. After graduating, Dani moved to NYC for work while Dominic was stationed in San Diego. They maintained their long-distance relationship and, a year later, Dani relocated to Los Angeles, just a little closer to SD. Two and a half years later, one 7 month deployment, and some parental convincing, Dani and Dominic finally survived 4 years of distance and moved in together in San Diego. On August 2, 2024, Dominic asked Dani to be his “amor eterno” and put a ring on it. Dani and Dominic continue to live in San Diego enjoying the beautiful ocean and evening home cooked dinners. As they dream of their future, they look forward to the next chapter of their love story—embracing married life and finally savoring every moment together, free from the distance of FaceTime.
